TONIGHT AND MONDAY…ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS INTO THIS EVENING. SEVERE STORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED…BUT BRIEF HEAVY RAIN IS POSSIBLE WITH ANY STORMS THAT DO DEVELOP. A WEAK COLD FRONT SLIDING SOUTHEAST THROUGH SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA WILL BE THE FOCUS FOR THUNDERSTORMS. THIS FRONT SHOULD MOVE SOUTH OF THE AREA BY MIDNIGHT…TAKING THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WITH IT.
ALTHOUGH SOME VERY MINOR FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG THE MISSOURI RIVER FROM BLAIR TO OMAHA…THE HIGHER RIVER LEVELS WILL PERSIST SOUTH OF OMAHA. MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING IS EXPECTED FROM PLATTSMOUTH DOWNSTREAM THROUGH RULO AT LEAST FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. IN ADDITION…DUE TO RECENT HEAVY RAINS…ELEVATED LEVELS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT ON OTHER RIVER AND STREAMS ACROSS EASTERN NEBRASKA AND WESTERN IOWA.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL IOWA…NORTH CENTRAL IOWA…NORTHEAST IOWA…NORTHWEST IOWA…SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA…SOUTHWEST IOWA AND WEST CENTRAL IOWA HAS BEEN CANCELLED. THE THREAT FOR HEAVY RAINFALL HAS DIMINISHED ACROSS THE WATCH AREA THEREFORE THE WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED. A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE THROUGH MID EVENING THOUGH HEAVY RAINFALL WILL NOT OCCUR.
