* AT 225 PM CDT…A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HAMBURG…OR 12 MILES NORTHWEST OF TARKIO…MOVING NORTH AT 30 MPH. THIS STORM COULD DEVELOP ROTATION QUICKLY.

AT 213 PM CDT…DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR CEDAR CREEK, NE TO NEAR RESERVE, NE…AND MOVING NORTH AT 40 MPH.
DIME SIZE HAIL AND WINDS IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS. THERE IS ALSO SOME POTENTIAL FOR BRIEF SPINUPS ALONG THIS LINE…WHICH COULD PRODUCE BRIEF TORNADOES.

AS A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS LIFTS NORTH THROUGH CENTRAL IOWA THIS MORNING…EXPECT WINDS TO INCREASE TO 25 TO 35 MPH SUSTAINED WITH GUSTS OVER 50 MPH. THESE WINDS SHOULD ONLY PERSIST FOR A SHORT TIME BEFORE DECREASING. MOTORISTS SHOULD BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WIND CONDITIONS IN AND AROUND THESE STORMS.

* Flood Stage is 24.0 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and Record flooding is forecast.
* Forecast…rise to Flood Stage midday today. Continue rising to
25.3 feet…or 1.3 feet above Flood Stage…this afternoon. Then
begin falling and go below Flood Stage late this afternoon.
* Impact…At 24.0 feet…East Main Street near the water plant
floods. Some residences near the floodplain on the southeast side
of town flood as well.
