FOG…OCCASIONALLY DENSE AT TIMES…CONTINUES OVER PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN IOWA THIS MORNING. THE FOG WILL PERSIST INTO A PORTION OF THE MORNING COMMUTE…OR THROUGH ABOUT 7 TO 8 AM THIS MORNING. MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE TRAVELING DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE. ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION SAFELY… INCREASE FOLLOWING DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF YOU. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA AS A COLD FRONT PUSHES SOUTHEAST ACROSS IOWA. SOME PEA HAIL AND BRIEF HEAVY RAIN IS POSSIBLE WITH THE STORMS. BEHIND THE COLD FRONT…THE WIND WILL SWITCH TO THE NORTHWEST AND BE QUITE STRONG FOR A FEW HOURS. EXPECT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH.
