Red Oak woman arrested for OWI & Child Endangerment, Saturday morning

(Red Oak, Iowa) – A traffic stop in the 400 block of N. 4th Street in Red Oak this (Saturday) morning, resulted in an arrest. Red Oak Police report 33-year-old Kristin Kay Harrold, of Red Oak, was taken into custody at around 12:30-a.m., for OWI/1st offense, and Child Endangerment. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail, and held on a $2,000 bond.

Windy, with a north northwest wind 14 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Rain showers before midnight, then a chance of rain and snow showers between midnight and 5am, then a chance of snow showers after 5am. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 33. Windy, with a northwest wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Sunday: A chance of snow showers before 7am, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 7am and 1pm, then a slight chance of rain showers after 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 49. Windy, with a northwest wind 24 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 61.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 67. Breezy.

Friday’s High in Atlantic was 81. Our Low this morning was 44. We received just under an inch of rain last night (.99″). Last year on this date the High in Atlantic was 51 and the Low was 24. The Record High on this date was 84 in 1920. The Record Low was 17 in 1926 & 1962.

Atlantic Girls Tennis Invitational cancelled Saturday

The Atlantic Girls Tennis Invitational that was scheduled for Saturday at Atlantic High School has been cancelled due to expected inclement weather in the area. Clarinda, Harlan, Lewis Central, Creston, CB Abraham Lincoln, Audubon, and Atlantic were scheduled to compete in the event.

Endangered Person Advisory – Polk County

(Update 5:19-p.m. 4/15/23) – (Des Moines, Iowa) – In an update our previous post, officials with the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Saturday evening said two children missing from Polk County were found safe Saturday afternoon, in Lucas County. THANK YOU to everyone who shared information and supported law enforcement to help locate these children.

This endangered person advisory is being issued on behalf of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. An endangered person advisory is being issued to locate 8-year-old Zafira Serrano and her 4-year-old brother, Paul “PJ” Serrano. Zafira and PJ were last seen at approximately 5:30 p.m. at Skateland (5621 Meredith Drive, Des Moines), participating in a supervised visit. Zafira and PJ were taken from Skateland by someone known to them. They are believed to be together. Based on information discovered during the investigation, law enforcement considers Zafira and PJ to be endangered.

Zafira is 49 inches tall and weighs 52 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. The right side of her hair is cut close to the scalp.

PJ is 38 inches tall and weighs 33 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Zafira or PJ Serrano is asked to call their local law enforcement or the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 515-286-3333.

GIRLS TRACK

IKM-Manning went 2nd at the East Sac County Raider Relays with 112 points. Ridge View was the champion with 193. The Wolves got 2nd place finishes in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay (1:17.35) and Distance Medley (4:59.18). Madelyn Snyder also went 2nd in the 400M (1:06.28).

BOYS TRACK

IKM-Manning scored 125.33 points to finish 2nd at the East Sac County Raider Relays. Westwood was the champion with 132 points. Caden Keller won the 1600M (4:41.34). The Wolves also won the 4x400M Relay (3:38.48) and the 4x800M Relay (8:40.28).

ACGC scored 123.5 points to win the boys title at the Manson NW-Webster Emily Markert Co-Ed Track Meet. The Chargers topped a field of 12 with wins from Lance Bunde in the High Jump (6-00), Justin Reinhart in the 3200M (10:52.42), Austin Kunkle in the 100M (10.76), and Tate Fever in the 400M Hurdles (59.55). Payton Jacobe was 2nd in the Shot Put (43-09.50) and Andrew Mahaffey was 2nd in the 1600M (4;51.35). The Chargers also went 2nd in the 4x800M Relay (9:12.82) and 4x100M Relay (44.95).
