The Atlantic Police Department reports two arrests over the weekend. On Saturday, 23-year old Trent Brammann, of Atlantic, was taken into custody for Driving While Barred. And, on Sunday, 25-year old Brandon Irlbeck, of Atlantic, was arrested for Domestic Abuse Assault. Both men were brought to the Cass County Jail, and held pending an initial court appearance.

Police in Red Oak report two arrests over the weekend. They include 42-year-old Shelby Olivares, who was taken into custody for allegedly violating a protective order, and, 47-year-old Matthew Westover, who was taken into custody on a charge of having an animal at-large. Both were held in the Montgomery County Jail on $300.00 bond, pending an appearance before the magistrate.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Department today (Monday), released a report on recent arrests. The following individuals were arrested last Thursday (Oct. 25th): 33-year old Brian E. Smith, of Omaha, for disorderly conduct; 32-year old Robert Lee Bopp, of Shenandoah, for driving under suspension; 26-year old Isaac Hayes, of Hamburg, for a probation violation, and, 40-year old Teresa Lynn Sederburg, of Shenandoah, for being an Accessory after the Fact. And, last Tuesday (Oct. 23rd), 20-year old James Dale Ahern, of Council Bluffs, was arrested for violating his probation.
Atlantic got just a taste of Winter this morning, when snow pellets fell outside the KJAN studios, at around 8:30. The precip lasted for only a couple of minutes, but left a few specks of snow on the ground…which quickly dissipated.
DELMAR QUECK, 86, of Fontanelle, died Mon., Oct. 29th, at the Good Samaritan Society in Fontanelle. Funeral services for DELMAR QUECK will be held 11-a.m. Thu., Nov. 1st, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle has the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 2-to 7pm Wed., Oct. 31st, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 5-7pm. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.steenfunerals.com.
Memorials may be directed to the Delmar Queck Memorial Fund, to be established by the family.
Burial, with full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Fontanelle American Legion Carlson Post No. 247, in the Fontanelle Cemetery.
Griswold is the class 1-A girls state cross country champion. The Tigers won the title with 86 points Saturday to edge Pekin who had 102. Individually, Rebekah Topham of Griswold won the individual crown with teammates Jordyn Sindt placing sixth, Alyx Flippin placing 19th, Allison Young 53rd and Larissa Backhaus 55th. The title adds to the state track championship Griswold won last spring.
In class 3-A girls, Atlantic’s Tiffany Williams placed 62nd overall.
