DV Warrant Sweep in Council Bluffs

The Council Bluffs Police Department reports on Oct. 21st, eleven law enforcement officers with the Council Bluffs Police Department and the 4th Judicial District Probation Office, participated in the 13th Annual National Family Violence Apprehension Detail, also known as the “DV Warrant Sweep”. The DV Warrant Sweep is a day-long event, in which agencies across the United States attempt to serve outstanding family-violence warrants, for crimes such as: domestic violence, harassment, stalking, child endangerment, and no contact order violations.

This year’s team attempted to serve warrants at over 35 locations across the city and made 9 arrests, clearing 11 outstanding warrants. Nationally:

  • There were 2370 total participants.
  • There were 8233 attempts to serve warrants.
  • 1654 outstanding warrants were served.

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped

Mix first four ingredients.  Add final ingredients.  Pour into two greased 9″ x 13″ pans.  Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.  Cool; frost with cream cheese frosting.

NW IA man wanted for failure to register as a sex offender

The U.S. Marshals Service Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force is asking for the public’s help in finding a man wanted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. 33-year old Brian Lembke is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.

Lembke is 5-feet 5-inches tall, and weighs 200 pounds. If you know where he is, call your local law enforcement agency.

2 arrests in Creston, Monday

Creston Police report the arrest Monday morning, of 34-year old Raymond Scott Davis, of Creston. Davis was taken into custody at his home, for allegedly violating a protection order. He was later released on $300 bond.

And, a woman from Orient was arrested Monday morning, also for violating a protection order. 34-year old Cynthia Ann McIntosh was being held in the Ringgold County Jail on $1,000 bond, while awaiting a hearing.

Des Moines Airport TSA finds gun in Guthrie County Reserve Deputy’s carry-on bag

Police in Des Moines cited a Panora man Saturday, after an X-ray of his carry-on luggage at the Des Moines International Airport, revealed a handgun. According to KCCI, 35-year old Andrew Carson, a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Deputy was charged with an airport regulation violation after the scan revealed a loaded Glock 27 .40-caliber subcompact pistol, was in Carson’s carry-on bag.

Des Moines Police were called to the airport at around 2:45-p.m., Saturday. Carson told police he was leaving for Las Vegas on a work trip, and that he forgot to remove his backup service weapon from the bag. The gun was removed from the airport by police.
