Adair County Sheriff Jeff Vandewater, Sunday released his weekly arrest report. The Sheriff says last Monday, 19-year old Bryana Christine Mulbach, and 21-year old Joshua Anthony Walker, both of Adair, were arrested for Violation of a No Contact Order. Mulbach was given a citation and released on her own recognizance. Walker was released to the custody of Dallas County authorities.

Last Tuesday, 25-year old Johnathon Richard Beaman, of Greenfield, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in the Adair County Jail on $100 cash bond. On Wednesday, 24-year old Shelly Jo Hartley, of Greenfield, was arrested for Child Endangerment. Her bond was set at $1,000. That same day, 19-year old Matthew Henry Paulsen, of Adair, was arrested for Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree. He was then cited and released. And, on Friday, 25-year old Derik James Martin, of Greenfield, was arrested at the Greenfield Casey’s Store for Public Intoxication. He pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced to time served.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reports one person was arrested on drug charges during the late night hours of July 18th. Authorities say the Sheriff’s Dept. K9 “Bayou” alerted to the presence of narcotics during a traffic stop in Denison at around 11-p.m. July 18th. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of Marijuana and Methamphetamine residue. As a result, 39-year old Ross Eugene McCall, of Denison, was arrested and formally charged with Driving While Revoked and Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense. His bond was set at $1,000.

A search warrant executed Saturday in Crawford County resulted in an arrest and the confiscation of a large amount of methamphetamine and about $10,400 in cash. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reports 35-year old William Matthew Lee Soll, of Dow City was arrested on a felony charge of  Conspiracy to deliver more than 5 grams of Methamphetamines, as well as misdemeanor charges that include Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Domestic Abuse Assault. His bond was set at $100,000.

Also arrested at the scene was 30-year old Amber Lea Nelson, of Denison, who faces a felony Conspiracy to Deliver more than 5 grams of Methamphetamines, charge, and misdemeanor charges that include Possession of Marijuana/2nd Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Her bond was also set at $100,000.

The arrests followed a search conducted at 2047 U Ave Dow City Iowa by deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. Along with the meth and cash, authorities seized Marijuana, a scale, packaging materials and other drug paraphernalia. The case remains is under investigation, and it’s possible that there will be more subjects arrested for their involvement with this case.

A traffic stop early this (Sunday) morning, in Montgomery County, resulted in the arrest of the driver of a pickup truck. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Dept. says deputies pulled over a Chevy pickup at around 1:20-a.m. at the intersection of Highway 34 and K Avenue. Following an investigation, 19-year old Benjamin Gene Coddington, of Red Oak, was arrested for OWI/1st Offense and cited for Possession of Alcohol Under Legal Age.

The Iowa State Patrol assisted Montgomery County Deputies in their investigation and in conducting the arrest.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke to more than 1400 in Oskaloosa Saturday afternoon. Trump greeted a crowd inside the 700-seat high school auditorium and his speech was broadcast into a building next door for the overflow crowd, with still more standing outside unable to get in to either venue.

He spoke for nearly an hour, touching on many of the topics he’s discussed in previous solo stops in Winterset and Des Moines in June. Trump did take on Republican rival Scott Walker, the current front-runner in Iowa polls, saying “He’s the only guy that’s ahead of me. I can’t believe I’m in second place…Folks, would you please put me in first place so I feel better?”

Trump told the audience he had appreciated Walker’s fight in surviving a recall election in Wisconsin, but Trump says a “stupid person” on Walker’s staff made a “horrible statement” about him — and then Trump blasted Walker’s management of Wisconsin. He said “They projected a $1 billion surplus and it turns out to be a deficit of $2.2 billion. The schools are a disaster and they’re fighting like crazy because there’s no money for the school…and he was totally in favor of Common Core. Did you know that?” The crowd cheered Trump’s negative critique of Walker.

Later Trump told reporters Walker hadn’t been that nice to him anyway, saying “One of his people hit me…and I said: ‘Hey, now the glvoes are off…The real truth is that Wisconsin’s it’s a mess right now. It’s a mess, from an economic standpoint.” Trump told reporters there is “no cap” on the amount of his personal fortune that he will spend running for president.

The Trump campaign handed out “Veterans for Trump” signs to the crowd and Brad Nagle, a native of Cherokee, Iowa, who is a former Navy Seal, spoke to the crowd before Trump arrived on stage. Nagle said “Donald Trump loves veterans unlike some others who think . crazies,” Nagle said, to applause. “Donald Trump is someone who talks the talk, but walks the walk. I like that.”

A man in the crowd gave a Marine “oorah” yell in response. Trump later told reporters his well-publicized dust-up with Arizona Senator John McCain over McCain’s “hero” status as a prisoner of war was “over with.”
