The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office reports a man who had active warrants for Probation Violation and Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, turned himself-in to the jail, late Tuesday morning. 24-year old Dustin James Coquat, of Council Bluffs, was accompanied by a bail bondsman when he showed up at the jail. Coquat was turned over to corrections staff and booked into the facility.

Two other men who were already serving time in the Pott. County Jail, 24-year old Jorden Clyde Points, and 26-year old Bradley Aaron Haley, both of Council Bluffs, were served with warrants for Violation of Parole.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reports two arrests took place, Tuesday. 50-year old Michael Robert Spare, of Creston, was arrested at the Union County Law Enforcement Center for violation of a protective order.  Spare was being held in the Union County Jail awaiting appearance before the Magistrate.

And, 28-year old Tyler Scott Sutton, of New Virginia, was arrested at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for violation of probation.  Sutton was being held in the Union County Jail without bond, until seen by a Judge.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) – Officials say the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics accidentally posted online for two years the names, admission dates and medical records numbers of around 5,300 current and former patients.

A University of Iowa Health Care news release said Tuesday that “a limited set of data” was inadvertently saved in unencrypted files posted online through an application development site.

Spokesman Tom Moore says an online security expert reported the posting April 29. The files were deleted two days later. He says the website where it was posted reported that the files were not copied. Moore also says the files didn’t contain clinical information, Social Security or credit card numbers.

University of Iowa Health Care notified the patients through a June 22 letter.

The newly-crowned Miss Iowa is a 23-year-old personal trainer from Urbandale and a Drake University graduate. Chelsea Dubczak says her platform stems from her own experiences and is called “Ladies Who Lift.” It’s centered on encouraging women to focus on their capabilities, physically and mentally. “I do that in hopes of developing healthy relationships with our bodies,” Dubczak says. “Especially women today, we have a lot of societal expectations about what our bodies should look like and what is defined as beautiful and I dare challenge those stereotypes.”

It’s amazing what can happen to change that mindset to focus on your capabilities, she says, instead of the number on a scale or the size of your clothes. She also wants to expand her platform to include men. “I would love to create a second component to Ladies Who Lift that really is the same premise because men have a lot of societal expectations that are expected of them in terms of their body as well,” Dubczak says. “They’re just not as vocal about it and not as emotional about it.”

During the pageant in Davenport last month, she says she kept her cool when it came down to just her and another young lady left on the stage. “I was very calm,” she says, “and in that moment I was trying desperately to think, ‘What’s the name I don’t want to hear? They’re going to call the first runner-up, right? Are they going to call the winner? What’s going to happen?’ Then, when they called her as the first runner up and she walked away, that’s when it really hit me that, wow, I did it!”

It was her 12th pageant and she believed that experience helped her stay calm. Dubczak will compete in the Miss America Pageant later this year. Miss Iowa’s Outstanding Teen is 14-year-old Lydia Fisher from Wapello. Fisher’s platform is Educating The Voters Of Tomorrow. She says she grew up in a family where political discussions around the dinner table were normal.

“But then after I started talking with my friends and fellow classmates, I realized that wasn’t the case,” Fisher says. “I feel students should know about politics no matter how old they are because we are American citizens and we have the right to choose our nation’s leaders, so we should be properly educated in the matter.”

Fisher was this year’s Miss Muscatine Outstanding Teen and it was her 9th pageant. She has also won state titles including: Little Miss Iowa 2010 and Junior Miss Iowa 2014. She will compete in the Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant this summer.

SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa (AP) – Authorities say a man working under a vehicle died after it fell on him near Sergeant Bluff in northwest Iowa. The accident occurred around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office says a jack supporting the vehicle collapsed, allowing the vehicle to fall on 64-year-old Loren Jorgensen. He was flown to a Sioux City hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The accident is being investigated.
