The St. Louis Cardinals opened up their weekend three-game set against the Reds with a 4-2 win on Friday night.

Paul Goldschmidt had 3 hits and 2RBI and Lars Nootbaar had 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored for the Cardinals. The Cardinals pounded out 10 hits in the game.

Steven Matz went 5 innings on the mound with 6 strikeouts and allowing just 1 earned run. The Cardinals improve to 9-4 this season.

The Cards and Reds will meet again on Saturday for a 3:10 p.m. first pitch. We’ll have the pregame starting at 2:15 p.m. on KJAN.

Underwood got wins from Tieler Hall (100M), Hailey Martin (100M Hurdles), Alizabeth Jaconsen (High Jump), and 4x100M Relay.

Riverside won the 4x800M Relay, 4x200M Relay, Carly Henderson (800M), and Lydia Erickson (200M).

Audubon got a win from Stefi Beisswenger in the 3000M and the Wheelers won the 4x400M Relay, Sprint Medley, and Distance Medley.

Tri-Center’s Emile Sorenson won the Long Jump.
