ERA ANDERSON, 86, a long-time Atlantic resident , died Wed., May 22nd, at her home. Funeral services for ERA ANDERSON will be held 1:30-p.m. Tue., May 28th, at the Roland Funeral Home, in Atlantic.
Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery at Casey, IA.
ERA ANDERSON is survived by:
Her brother – Sorn Anderson, of Cameron, MO.
Her nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
ROGER NEWELL, 68, a long-time Atlantic resident , died Thu., May 23rd, at Creighton Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services for ROGER NEWELL will be held 10-a.m. Thu., May 30th, at the Roland Funeral Home, in Atlantic.
Visitation is open at the funeral home from 8am-to 5:30-p.m. until the day of services, with the family will meet with friends at the funeral home from 6-to 7-pm Wed., May 29th. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.rolandfuneralservice.com.
Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.

His brother – Darwin (Linda) Newell, of Louisville, KY.
His sisters – Patricia Olsen, and Sharon Turner Meyer & husband Ken, all of Omaha.

The Boys State Tennis Tournaments will be played Friday, May 24th and Saturday, May 25th. On Friday pictures will take place at 8:30am followed by the coaches meeting at 8:30pm. Seeding meetings will follow the coaches meeting and play will then get underway.
Class 1A athletes will be playing at Byrne’s Park Tennis Complex in Waterloo.

Sheriff’s Officials in Montgomery County report the arrest early this (Friday) morning, of a Clarinda woman on a drug charge. 29-year old Lacey Jo Smalley was taken into custody just before 2-a.m., on a Possession of Drug Paraphernalia charge. Smalley was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and held on a $300 cash bond.
