News

August 25th, 2012 by Ric Hanson

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha police say an Iowa man has died in a semitrailer crash in eastern Omaha. Police say 26-year-old Richard Anderson III, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was driving the semitrailer when it rolled onto its side on a ramp entering Interstate 80 and caught fire. Several passers-by attempted to get the driver out of the cab, but couldn’t. Police says diesel fuel spilled and the fire spread quickly, engulfing the truck. Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Investigators say the truck had been hauling debris away from Rosenblatt Stadium, the former College World Series baseball venue that is being torn down.
