KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Andy Dalton threw for 230 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, A.J. Green caught a touchdown pass in his ninth straight game and the Cincinnati Bengals beat the woeful Kansas City Chiefs 28-6 on Sunday.  Green finished with six catches for 91 yards in another dazzling performance, Mohamed Sanu had a scoring grab and BenJarvus Green-Ellis ran for 101 yards and a touchdown as the Bengals (5-5) won their second straight following a maddening four-game losing streak.

Cincinnati now plays its next four games against teams with losing records.  None of them are as bad as the Chiefs.  Jamaal Charles had 87 yards rushing for Kansas City (1-9), but that was the only highlight for a team that lost its seventh straight amid a gloomy crowd at Arrowhead Stadium.

A complaint about a reported trespasser led to the arrest of a Red Oak man late Saturday night. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department says 21-year old Jesus Garcia-Rodriguez, of Red Oak, was taken into custody at around 11:40-p.m., on a charge of OWI/1st Offense.

Officials say his arrest was the result of a trespass complaint filed by a resident on Ginko Avenue in Red Oak. Garcia-Rodriguez was located in the driveway of 2360 Highway 48. During their investigation, deputies determined the man had been drinking. After Garcia-Rodriguez was given and failed a Field Sobriety Test, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he was being held on $1.000 bond.

DETROIT (AP) — Ray McCallum capped a 20-point night with a game-sealing 18-footer with 13 seconds left, helping Detroit hold on to beat Drake 85-79 on Saturday night. McCallum’s shot followed a Ben Simons 3-pointer that had pulled Drake within 81-79 with 46 seconds to play. Doug Anderson led the Titans (2-1) with a career-high 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting and made all three of his 3-point attempts. He also pulled down 10 rebounds. Nick Minnerath added 16 points.

Jordan Clarke had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (1-1), and Chris Hines scored 14. Drake’s bench outscored Detroit’s 25-6. Up 76-62 with 4:04 left after Juwan Howard Jr.’s two free throws, the Titans looked to have the game in hand. But a 17-5 Drake run, capped by Simons’ 3-pointer, got the Bulldogs back within two before McCallum’s late jumper.

Drake now holds an 11-10 lead in the series between the schools.

Iowa State blasts Kansas 51-23

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Sam Richardson, who had not even attempted a pass all year, threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns Saturday night, sparking Iowa State past Kansas 51-23 and handing the Jayhawks their 20th consecutive Big 12 loss. Richardson led the Cyclones (6-5 overall, 3-5 Big 12) to touchdowns on four straight possessions in the second quarter while taking a 38-17 lead in Lawrence, Kansas. The redshirt freshman, virtually overlooked all year in the Cyclones’ jumbled quarterback picture, had previously seen only mop-up duty in one game.

While going 23 for 27, Richardson spread his completions around to 12 different receivers. Six different Cyclones scored touchdowns. For Kansas (1-10, 0-8), the final home game of the year sent a bedraggled class of seniors out on the same sort of sour note which has characterized their entire collegiate careers.
