CLEVELAND — With the 93rd pick in the NFL Draft, Friday, the Buffalo Bills select Northern Iowa Offensive Lineman Spencer Brown, a graduate of the Lenox High School. Brown, a 6-foot 8-inch, 311 pounder, played tackle for UNI. He was a 2019 2nd Team All MVFC selection, who opted out of the 2020 Spring Season due to COVID-19 concerns. He was named a preseason FCS All-American in 2020 before the season was postponed.

Brown had offers from Power 5 schools after the FCS postponed the 2020 season to spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He turned down the opportunity out of allegiance to Northern Iowa.
Brown competed in football, basketball, golf, and track at Lenox High School in his hometown Lenox, Iowa. The school, nestled in a town with a population of 1,407 as of 2010, fielded an eight-player team. Brown played tight end in addition to fighting through double teams to rack up 17 sacks as a senior and earned first-team all-state honors.
Brown becomes the first player from Northern Iowa drafted by the Bills.
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Cubs are teaming up with Hy-Vee to make COVID-19 vaccines available at Principal Park. The hope is to have the mobile clinic up and running for opening day on Tuesday, May 4th. On Wednesday, Gov. Kim Reynolds called on the organization to help get more Iowans vaccinated.
For its part, the I-Cubs organization says they are looking forward to playing a vital role in protecting Iowans as well as welcoming them back to the stands safely. Hy-Vee, too, is looking forward to the partnership as well. In a statement, they said this free vaccine clinic will offer many opportunities for Iowans to get their shot at multiple upcoming games.
