News

October 10th, 2021 by Ric Hanson

(Atlantic, Iowa) – The Cass County Board of Supervisors will meet in a regular session 9-a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12th, in their Board Room at the Courthouse. Action items on their agenda include:

  • Approval of a Bond Counsel Engagement Agreement with Ahlers Cooney.
  • Action on a Resolution fixing the date for a public hearing meeting on “the proposition to authorize a Loan Agreement and the issuance of Notes to evidence the obligations of the County…not to exceed $3,500,000 General Obligation Loan Notes.”

The Board will receive a report from Cass County Conservation Department Director Micah Lee, for the quarter ending 9/30/2021. The will also receive a regular report from County Engineer Trent Wolken, and continue with discussions pertaining to the County residential care facility (Willow Heights) and county farm ground. Supervisor John Hartkopf said the MHDS Region will help with search for a new tenant and otherwise investing in keeping the facility maintained through at least the remainder of FY22.

Their final item of business is to discuss and take possible action on: America Rescue Plan funding, with regard to the use of those funds, etc.
