Police in Creston report the arrest early this (Friday) morning, of 37-year old Dustin James Seley, of Creston. Seley was taken into custody at around 1:45-a.m. on a charge of Theft in the 3rd Degree. He was being held in the Union County Jail on $2,000 bond.

ETHEL E. EUKEN, 86, of Atlantic, died Thu., April 14th, at the Heritage House, in Atlantic. Memorial Services for ETHEL EUKEN will be held 11-a.m. April 18th, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, south of Wiota. Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.
A private burial will be held.
Memorials may be directed to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the family.

A man and woman from Cass County were arrested Thursday night, in Adams County. Sheriff’s officials say 22-year old Devin Leroy Means, and 19-year old Kaeleigh Danette Long, both of Griswold, were arrested near Lenox a little after 8:15-p.m. , after authorities were notified about a car at 240th and Sycamore Avenue having had its windows broken out and dents all over the vehicle.
Boot prints on the roof of the car matched the soles of the boots worn by Means. He and Long were taken into custody for Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree. Their bonds were set at $10,000.
With five victories in its last six games the Iowa Hawkeye baseball team has established a solid home field advantage. Beginning today (Friday) they will try to prove the can win on the road. The Hawkeyes take a 16-15 overall record and a 5-4 Big Ten mark to Indiana to open a three game series. Coach Rick Heller’s team has won only two of 12 games on the road.
Iowa is 10-2 at home and Heller says his team is gaining confidence. Indiana has won six straight and takes a 4-2 record into tonight’s series opener. Iowa will send sophomore C.J. Eldred to the mound in the series opener. The Mount Vernon native is 2-3 on the season.
