The Red Oak Police Department reports a Council Bluffs man was arrested on multiple warrants on Tuesday afternoon.

At 2:24pm Red Oak Police arrested 31-year-old Joshua Arthur Rhodes of Council Bluffs on an active warrant for Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree, a Class C Felony. Rhodes was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and held on $10,000 bond.

Rhodes was also arrested for another warrant for Failure to Appear on a Driving While Revoked charge. He was held on an additional $5,000 bond for that charge.

The Atlantic Police Department on Tuesday afternoon released details on a number of recent arrests.

On July 12th Officers arrested 41-year-old Israel Sanchez of Phoenix, AZ for Public Intoxication. He was taken to the Cass County Jail and booked in.

On July 14th 29-year-old Tyler Mills of Atlantic was arrested for four counts of Violation of a No Contact Order, Stalking, and Tampering with Witness. He was booked in to the Cass County Jail. Mills was arrested on July 16th as well for Eluding.

On July 17th 17-year-old Gage Mundorf of Atlantic was arrested for Arson 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Theft 4th, and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. He was taken to the Cass County Jail and later posted bond and was released.

On July 20th 2 arrests were reported. 29-year-old Joseph White of Atlantic was arrested on a Cass County Warrant for Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air/Blood Flow causing Bodily Injury. He was booked into the Cass County Jail.

Also on the 20th 50-year-old Randall Lewis of Anita was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence 1st Offense. He was taken to the Cass County Jail and booked in.

On July 21st 40-year-old Tobin Jensen of Atlantic was arrested for Violation of a No Contact Order. He was booked into the Cass County Jail.

On July 22nd 53-year-old Donald Wilson of Atlantic was arrested on a Cass County Warrant for Possession with Intent to Deliver and Ongoing Criminal Conduct. He was booked in to the Cass County Jail.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Davenport authorities have identified two men found dead in a backyard pool. Officers were sent to the gated home in the Village of East Davenport neighborhood a little before 9 p.m. Monday. Police say the officers found the bodies of 60-year-old Mark Anderson, of Eldridge, and 57-year-old Kenneth Anderson, of Bellevue. Police say the two have no family relation. A preliminary investigation indicates both men died from accidental drowning.

The Page County Sheriff’s Office reports two arrests. Monday evening, 39-year old Phillip Jay McClish, of Clarinda, was arrested at the Page County Sheriff’s Office on a Page County Warrant. The warrant was for Theft in the 2nd Degree. McClish was booked into the Page County Jail, where he remained held on a $5,000 bond. And, at around 2-a.m. Saturday, a Page County Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Highway 2, on the south side of Clarinda. The vehicle did not pull to the side for some time after the Deputy activated his emergency lights and emergency siren. After Clarinda Police assisted with the incident, the Deputy finally got the vehicle to pull over near the intersection of Highway 2 and 12th street. in Clarinda.

During the investigation, 30-year old Daniel Ryan Bix, of Bedford, was arrested for OWI 3rd or subsequent offense, Driving under suspension, and Eluding Law Enforcement. Bix was transported to the Page County Jail where he is currently being held on $10,000 cash only bond.

LE MARS, Iowa (AP) — A northwest Iowa woman originally charged with killing her husband has pleaded not guilty to making a false report to a public safety entity. Plymouth County court records say 35-year-old Becky Hebert, of rural Akron, entered the written plea Friday. The records don’t show that a trial has been scheduled. She’d originally been charged with second-degree murder for the Oct. 6, 2017, shooting death of 40-year-old Jeremy Hebert. The charge was dismissed just weeks later. Deputies reported that she said numerous times that she’d shot her husband — statements that they later concluded were lies. No other arrests for the slaying have been reported.

(Radio Iowa) — Vice President Mike Pence visits central Iowa today (Tuesday) to discuss the importance of the U-S-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says he’s not aware of any timeline for the trade deal to be sent to Congress. The measure would go to the U-S House first where Grassley says Speaker Nancy Pelosi is still working to get her freshmen troops organized. “Every day, you read about her having problems with these new members on this subject or that subject or some other subject,” Grassley says. “She has the same problems with the Mexico Canadian agreement with the United States and she’s got to get her people comfortable with it.”

Grassley, a Republican, says he met with Democrat Pelosi about a month ago to talk about U-S-M-C-A and he says he believes she’s “very sincere” about getting it passed. He notes the House has 75 or 80 new members, the largest such class since 1974. Vice President Pence will visit Accumold in the Des Moines suburb of Ankeny, a company that makes molds for the high-tech industry and ships globally.  “I’m certainly glad the vice president is going to Ankeny because trade is so important to Iowa,” Grassley says. “Good for the administration to see first-hand the need to do it.”

Grassley says he fully supports U-S-M-C-A and he knows it has bipartisan backing, including from former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, who served eight years as U-S Ag Secretary under President Obama. “I kinda’ think that a month ago or whenever Secretary Vilsack had an announcement that he supported it and that it was good for Iowa, particularly Iowa agriculture,” Grassley says, “that probably was the best boost that it could possibly have.”

The U-S-M-C-A is designed to replace NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, which went into effect in 1994.

(Radio Iowa) — Vice President Mike Pence will be in Iowa today (Tuesday) to tout a revised trade pact with Canada and Mexico. Pence will land in Des Moines shortly after noon and head to Accumold in Ankeny. It’s a business that ships its products worldwide. Pence will speak there, to highlight the Trump Administration’s “efforts to pass the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.” The deal has not yet been submitted to congress. Once that happens, the U.S. House and Senate have 30 days to ratify or reject the deal. The deal updates the terms of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

NAFTA created a free trade zone on the continent and was ratified by the U.S., Mexico and Canada in 1993. It went into effect on January 1st of 1994.
