OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The daughter of billionaire investor Warren Buffett has been exposed to the new coronavirus and has isolated herself at her Omaha home for two weeks. Susie Buffett told the Omaha World-Herald on Sunday that she feels fine and doesn’t think she’s contracted COVID-19, which is caused by the virus that originated in China. She says she’s not the least bit worried and says she hopes talking about her exposure brings down the fear in other people. She also says she hasn’t been around her 89-year-old father since her exposure last week.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a woman and child have been killed in a Des Moines residential fire. Firefighters sent around 10:45 a.m. Sunday to the duplex found flames coming out of the windows on its north side. The names, ages and other information about the two victims have not been released. No other injuries were reported. The fire cause is being investigated.
(Radio Iowa) — An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal weekend shooting in Marshalltown. Thirty-year-old Mustafa Muhammed has been charged with the murder early Sunday morning of a 27-year-old Marshalltown man. Police received numerous 911 calls about a shooting on West Linn Street just before 3:30 Sunday morning. The victim was taken to Unity Point Health-Marshalltown where he later died. A 37-year old female suffered a minor injury when she grazed by a bullet.
Muhammed is also charged with three other Class D felonies in connection with the incident. Marshalltown Police, along with the DCI are continuing their investigation. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
Police in Red Oak, Sunday night, arrested 47-year old Dennis Joseph Doyen, of Red Oak, on an assault charge. Doyen was arrested at around 8:07-p.m. for Domestic Abuse Assault/1st offense. He was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
ROLAND JOHN WEGNER, 86, of Woodbine, died Saturday, March 14th, at the Myrtue Medical Center, in Harlan. A Mass of Christian Burial for ROLAND WEGNER will be held 11-a.m. Tue., March 17th, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.
Visitation at the funeral home is today (Monday, 3/16), from 5-until 7-p.m., with a Wake service at 7-p.m.
Burial is in the Harlan Cemetery.

His daughters – Debra (Bruce) Busing, and Linda (Craig) Adair, all of Logan.
His sons – Robert (Jane) Wegner, of Prescott, AZ; Paul (Kristi) Wegner, of Harlan, and David (Kelly) Wegner, of Carroll.
His sister – Luella (Glen) Heese, of Bellingham, WA
17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Gov. Kim Reynolds is recommending Iowa schools close for four weeks after learning of more cases that indicate the coronavirus is spreading through the state. Reynolds had said Saturday that she didn’t support cancelling school, but on Sunday night she said it was time for schools to stop holding classes after four more residents tested positive for the virus. The new cases bring the total to 22 Iowa residents who have tested positive. Two of the people who tested positive had recently traveled internationally but two others hadn’t traveled, indicating there was growing “community spread” of the virus. Those who had traveled live in Allamakee County. The two who hadn’t traveled live in Johnson County and Polk County.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa leaders say they will halt the current legislative session for at least 30 days after learning the state now has community spread of COVID-19, the illness caused by the spreading coronavirus. Colin Tadlock, the spokesman for House Republicans, says in a statement that leaders made the decision Sunday. The decision was made in consultation with the Iowa Department of Public Health and Gov. Kim Reynolds. The House and Senate will convene on Monday to consider resolutions regarding continuity of government to ensure delivery of essential government services.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Des Moines officials have banned gatherings of more than 250 people on public property and cancelled the city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade because of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Des Moines Mayor Frank Cownie announced those moves Sunday when he declared a state of emergency in the city. Iowa now has 18 cases of COVID-19 in the state, including one case in Dallas County that isn’t related to travel. That case in the Des Moines suburbs indicates the virus is becoming more common in Iowa because officials can’t trace the origin of it.
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the central Iowa city of Marshalltown. Marshalltown Police said the shooting was reported around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Officers responding to the shooting found a critically injured 27-year-old man with gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a Marshalltown hospital where he died. His name wasn’t immediately released Sunday. Police said a 30-year-old man was arrested Sunday as a suspect in the shooting.
