Clarinda Police Chief Keith Brothers reports that his officers were kept busy making several drug related arrests over the weekend. On Friday night, November 10th at approximately 9:00 p.m. officers executed a search warrant at 614 E. Washington Street. The residence is a rental property owned and presently occupied by 49-year old Roger Schaben. Officers recovered controlled substances believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia from the home. Officers arrested Schaben, for felony maintaining a home for the gathering of illegal use of drugs and possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Schaben was taken to the Page County Jail and held on $5,000.00 bail. Also arrested at the residence was 52-year old Tina Benkowich, for possession of marijuana. Benkowich was taken to the Page County Jail and held on $1,000.00 bail. Clarinda Police Department K-9 Raiko and the Page County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the execution of the search warrant and arrests.
On Saturday evening, November 11th at approximately 9:00 p.m. officers arrested 35-year old Krystal Lynn Harbin, of rural Clarinda for second and subsequent offense of a controlled substance believed to be methamphetamine. Harbin was arrested after drugs were found in her possession during a traffic stop at 11th & Grant. Harbin was taken to the Page County Jail and held on $3,000.00 bail.
Police reports have been submitted to the offices of Page County Attorney Carl M. Sonksen for review regarding the filing of formal charges.
