The Page County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest last week of a Council Bluffs man on a warrant from Polk County. 44-year-old Marvin Earl Troy Hunt was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 19th at 1:50pm in rural Page County. Hunt was wanted in Polk County for Burglary (serious misdemeanor) and Violation of Probation. Hunt was held in the Page County Jail until he was transferred to Polk County where he will be held without bond until seen by a Polk County Judge.

RICKY D. BARKER, 54, of Harlan (formerly of Coon Rapids) died Sept. 12, 2013 in Buffalo, TX. Celebration of life memorial services for RICKY BARKER will be held Saturday, Sept. 28th at 4:00pm in the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids. MICHAEL GERARD WEIHS, 51, of Westphalia died Monday, Sept. 23rd at home. Memorial services for MICHAEL WEIHS will be held on Friday, Sept. 27th at 2:00pm at the Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.
Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Westphalia.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 27th from 9:00am-1:30pm with the family greeting friends from 11:00am-1:30pm prior to the services.

If familiarity breeds contempt then Thursday night’s matchup between Iowa State and Tulsa should feature plenty of intensity. It will be the teams third meeting in a little more than a year and last December the Golden Hurricane beat the Cyclones 31-17 in the Liberty Bowl.
ISU coach Paul Rhoads hopes quarterback Sam Richardson’s ankle has healed up enough to make him more of a factor in the running game. Richardson has only 86 yards in the first two games.

Matt Adams hit his eighth home run since replacing injured Allen Craig and doubled for the Cardinals, who led the Pirates by 2½ games with three games to go. The Reds lost 1-0 to the Mets on Wednesday and were eliminated from the divisional race.
