Obituaries

GENE YOUNG, 78, of Exira, died Sat., April 12th, at the Exira Care Center. Funeral services for GENE YOUNG will be held 2-p.m. Wed., April 16th, at the Kessler Funereal Home in Exira.

Visitation at the funeral home is from 1-p.m. until the time of service on Wed., with the family present.

Burial will be in the Oakfield Cemetery east of Brayton.

GENE YOUNG is survived by:

His sons – Tom Young & special friend Jennifer Hacker, of Audubon; Monty (Annette) Young, of Atlantic; and Shon (Mary) Young, of Lewis.

His sister – Edna Crawley, of Exira.

9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson, other relatives and friends.

The National Weather Service has extended a Severe Thunderstorm Watch previously in effect for counties along and north of Interstate 80. The Watch now includes ADAMS-FREMONT-MILLS-MONTGOMERY-PAGE-RINGGOLD and TAYLOR COUNTIES, and is in effect for those counties until 2-a.m. Sunday.
