The Atlantic Trojans girl’s soccer team is coming off a 3-0 loss to West Central Valley on Monday April 29th in Atlantic. The Trojans girls currently have 1-9 overall record and 1-3 conference record with four matches remaining.
Coach Jesse McCann had this to say about his teams performance in their 3-0 loss to West Central Valley on Monday.
With having six sophomores on the roster this year Coach McCann has had to put a lot on their shoulders this season.
Senior Captain Eva Steffenson was mainly a defensive player last year but Coach McCann has helped her transition to being more offensive player this season.
Coach McCann talked about what momentum can do for his team for the rest of the year.
The Trojans girls next soccer match is going be against Harlan on Thursday May 2nd in a Hawkeye 10 regular season matchup in Atlantic. That match will get underway at 5:30 p.m.
The Atlantic Trojans boy’s soccer team is coming off a 10-0 loss to St. Albert last Thursday in Atlantic. The Trojans are currently 3-8 overall and 0-4 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference.
Atlantic senior Kyler Edie leads the Trojans in scoring 9 goals this season and Trojans coach Mark Anderson talked about why Edie has been having a successful season.
Coach Anderson talked about adding a few assets to the team from a couple area schools this season.
Soccer has been a big sport for teams in Southwest Iowa and coach Anderson elaborated on what soccer has meant to programs in Southwest Iowa
The Trojans only have four matches remaining on the rest of the season and coach Anderson talked about his approach into those matches.
The next Atlantic Trojans boys soccer match will be Thursday May 2nd when they take Council Bluffs-Thomas Jefferson in a non-conference match up at Gale Wickersham Athletic Complex in Council Bluffs. That match will start at 5:00 p.m.
