(Clarinda, Iowa) – The Page County Sheriff’s Office, Saturday (Dec. 10) issued a report on arrests conducted from November 26, 2022 through December 9, 2022. Those arrested are as follows:
“A charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”
There was also one accident noted in the Sheriff’s report:
12/02/2022 – Todd William Bashaw was traveling east on 190th Street in his John Deere combine. Ryan James Leporte was traveling west on 190th street. Bashaw and Leporte collided causing damage to Leporte’s vehicle.

UNI dropped a 52-49 contest to McNeese State on Friday night in Cedar Falls. The Panthers shot a measly 29% from the field and fall to 3-6 on the season.
Trey Campbell posted 17 points for the Panthers, he hit five threes in the game. Michael Duax had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Next up for the Panthers is a home game against South Florida on Monday at 7:00 p.m.

The massive Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic at the Mid-America Center began on Friday and will finish on Saturday. The boys field includes 41 teams and the girls field has 32.
On the boys side Glenwood sits in a tie for 10th in the team standings with 90.5 points. Matt Beam (132), Tate Mayberry (152), CJ Carter (195), and Mason Koehler (220) all advanced to the second round of their brackets for the Rams.
Atlantic’s Aidan Smith (113) and Brenden Casey (195) advanced to the second round of their brackets for the Trojans.
On the girls side Lewis Central had 7 wrestlers assure themselves a top-8 finish after day one and they sit second in the team standings with 201.5 points.

Wrestlers from 23 schools competed at the Riverside Girls Wrestling Tournament on Friday in Oakland. SWAT and Riverside each had three champions on the night.
SWAT had six wrestlers make the finals and three came out on top. Maddie McCoy (115B), Grace Britten (170), and Ellen Gerlock (190) all won titles for the Valkyrie, with all three pinning every opponent they faced. Grabbing silver medals were Quincy Sorensen(115A), Evy Marlin(135), and Mia South(145A). Paige Baier finished 3rd at 155B.
Riverside had five finalists and three champs. Molly Allen (126), Macy Woods (130B), and Paola Gonzalez (155A) all picked up titles. Jayden Carrigan (120) and Ana Wilson (135B) were 2nd place finishers for the Bulldogs.
AHSTW’s Isabella Canada took the title at 235 and Audubon’s Laura McCarville won the championship at 125A.

ALTHEA “JOANNE” CHRISTENSEN, 88, of Anita died on Friday, December 9th at her home. A Celebration of Life for JOANNE CHRISTENSEN will be held at the Anita Methodist Church on Saturday January 7th, 2023, starting at 11:00-a.m., in the church basement. A luncheon will be served. Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.
