STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The fourth-ranked University of Iowa men’s wrestling team defeated No. 2 Oklahoma State, 22-9, on Sunday afternoon at Gallagher-Iba Arena. This was the Cowboys’ first loss of the season.
The Hawkeyes won seven of 10 bouts and picked up bonus points at 174. Iowa outscored Oklahoma State 62-32 in match points and recorded 11 takedowns to Oklahoma State’s five.
“I feel like that was a good step,” said head coach Tom Brands. “That was an undefeated team here in Stillwater. The environment and all that we handled it. We have to keep getting better.”
