A Winterset woman has been seriously injured after a rollover accident on Highway 169 this Thursday morning in Madison County.
A 2005 Ford XST driven by 36-year-old Heather Meggison was traveling south on Highway 169 at about 5:00 Thursday morning.
Meggison says as she was driving she saw a deer pass in front of her which caused her to veer out of the way to miss the deer. Meggison’s vehicle crashed into a ditch after overturning. The car then came to rest on its wheels.
The Iowa State Patrol says Meggison suffered serious injuries and was transported Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. An update on her status is not currently available.
Meggison’s vehicle was totaled in the crash. She was cited for failure to maintain control.
