The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office was called to a single vehicle accident around 3:43pm Friday afternoon at US Highway 34 and L Ave.  Upon arrival a 2001 Chevy Suburban owned by Lupita Cisneros of Rowlett, TX and being operated by 75-year-old Keith Wayne Rhone of Rockwall, TX was found wrecked while travelling Eastbound on Highway 34.

The Suburban was pulling a 1995 Viking Travel Trailer heading Eastbound on Highway 34 when Rhone fell asleep at the wheel.  The vehicle traveled across the westbound lane of traffic and entered into the north ditch, travelling 400 feet before striking the ditch embankment of L Avenue and coming to rest.

Chiefs Cast Unanimous Vote to Recertify

Sports

July 30th, 2011 by Jim Field

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) – The Kansas City Chiefs have voted unanimously to recertify as a players union.  Several players said Friday there was no sentiment not to recertify the NFL Players Association as a union.  “I know a lot of the deal was based on the fact that we had to recertify,” quarterback Matt Cassell said. “We know as of Aug. 4 this labor lockout would continue. We voted unanimously to end it and recertify.”  The union decertified last March at the start of the owners’ lockout.  Once the NFLPA regains its union status, it can finish negotiating the collective bargaining agreement with the NFL.  Having that done will allow players who have agreed to new deals to join their teams.
