IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police have released body camera footage showing a University of Iowa football player being questioned by police who were searching for a robbery suspect. The footage released Tuesday shows an encounter defensive end Faith Ekakitie described in a Facebook post earlier this week. He wrote that he was playing “Pokemon Go” in a public park when he was surrounded by police and searched at gunpoint. Ekakitie said he feared for his life but understood why police did what they did.

In the video, an officer can be heard telling Ekakitie to put his hands up. The officer says, “It’s probably not you, but we’ve got to double check.” Ekakitie tells the officers he’d been playing the popular smartphone game, which sends players to physical locations to “catch” virtual Pokemon characters. After the officers check Ekakitie’s ID, one thanks him for his cooperation.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Tomas Telis homered and singled, driving in four runs and scoring a pair as the New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the Iowa Cubs 9-5 on Tuesday. Isaac Galloway doubled and singled for New Orleans. Down 1-0, New Orleans batted around in the third inning, sending 11 batters to the plate and scoring six runs, including a two-run single by Telis.

Following the big inning, the Cubs cut into the deficit in the next half-inning when Juan Perez hit a three-run home run. The Zephyrs later added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. In the fifth, Telis hit a two-run home run, while Robert Andino hit an RBI double in the sixth.

New Orleans starter Justin Nicolino (5-4) picked up the win despite allowing five runs and seven hits over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Jake Buchanan (9-6) took the loss after allowing six runs and seven hits over four innings. Perez homered and doubled, driving home three runs and scoring a couple for the Cubs.

NEW YORK (AP) — Bartolo Colon pitched three-hit ball for seven sharp innings and the New York Mets overcame another home run by Jedd Gyorko to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 Tuesday night for a doubleheader split. Gyorko homered in both ends and has connected seven times in nine games. His two-run shot helped St. Louis win the opener 3-2.

Colon (9-5) struck out eight and walked none. After Gyorko homered in the second and Alberto Rosario doubled in the third, Colon set down 14 of his final 15 batters. Addison Reed worked the eighth and Jeurys Familia closed for his 36th save this year and 52nd in a row during the regular season.

NEW YORK (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals have put reliever Trevor Rosenthal on the 15-day disabled list because of inflammation in his right shoulder. The Cardinals made the move before Tuesday’s doubleheader against the New York Mets. They promoted lefty Dean Kiekhefer from the minors for his third stint with St. Louis this year.

Despite a last stitch effort in the top half of the seventh, Harlan was able to hold on to defeat Bishop Heelan Catholic 8-6 Tuesday afternoon in a Class 3A first-round game at Principal Park. Harlan took the lead from the start when Kyle Juhl sent a triple to deep right-center and Josh Cheek brought him in on a single to shallow center.

Brett Croghan was given the ball for Harlan and he tossed five strong innings of work for the home team. Croghan allowed two runs, both unearned, from six hits and four walks, while striking out two. He was helped all game long by brothers Dillon Sears and Brett Sears at short stop and third, respectively.

The Cyclones scored one more in the bottom of the third that began with Dillon Sears reaching on a walk and then advancing to second on a stolen base. Juhl moved Sears to third on a fly out to right and then Nick Tarney did his job by sending a deep sacrifice fly to left that allowed Sears to score.

Matthew Kerian was given the nod to start the game for Bishop Heelan where he tossed four innings for the away team. Kerian allowed four runs, all earned, from seven hits and two walks, while striking out two. He was replaced by Colin Kasperbauer for .2 innings of work.

Harlan scored another run in the fourth from two hits and an error to extend their lead to 3-0.  The Crusaders responded in the top of the fifth with two runs to shorten the lead to one. Kasperbauer reached base on Jared Moser’s misplayed grounder to start off the inning. Jackson Boever reached on a walk and Matt Nelson moved the runners due to Dillon Sears’ misplayed grounder. Bishop Heelan put two across from two hits from Hunter Hope and Kerian, but left three on base for the second time in the game.

Harlan wasted no time in getting those runs back and put two across in the bottom half from one hit and three walks. They added three more in the bottom of the sixth from two hits by Dillon Sears, who tripled and Juhl who singled to shallow center for the second time.

Down to their last outs, Bishop Heelan started a last ditch one-out rally in attempt to tie the game up to give their team one last shot. Bailey McBride started the rally with a single to left-center. Hope followed him with a double down the left field line that allowed McBride to score. Kerian hit a single of his own and Tom Schiltz reached base on Juhl’s misplayed ball. Will Karrer doubled to left center to score two more and move their seventh inning run total to four. With only one out and only down two now, Harlan’s Cheek settled down and got two fly outs to close the door on Heelan’s comeback.

Harlan (28-5) moves to the semifinals of the Class 2A semifinals. Heelan ended at 27-16.
