(Marshalltown, Iowa) – Police in Marshalltown, along with the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations, are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found on a road.
Public safety personnel responded at around 5:45-a.m., Saturday (Aug. 31), to the area of North 12th Avenue and Bromley Street in Marshalltown, for a medical emergency. The Marshall County 911 Communications Center received a call about a person found in the roadway on North 12th Avenue with serious injuries. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found an unresponsive, adult male, in the roadway. The man had visible traumatic injuries. Immediate medical care was provided to the individual.
He was transported to the Marshalltown hospital and was later transferred to a medical facility in Des Moines, where he died. The cause and manner of death are not known at this time. The man’s identity was being withheld by law enforcement, pending notification of family.
