Adams County man receives “Beerdrinker of the Year” award

News

March 15th, 2012 by Ric Hanson

An Adams County man won the title of “Beerdrinker of the Year” award late last month. According to “The FullPint.com,” J. Wilson, of Prescott, received the honor at the “Beerdrinker of the Year National Finals” Feb. 25th, at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, in Denver, CO.  Wilson is a writer, homebrewer, beer judge and beer blogger. The beer company says Wilson’s astute beer knowledge, beer ambassadorship and a 2011 beer & water fast helped him win the contest. Wilson won the title over home brewers from New York City and Las Vegas, NV.  Wilson has a 3-tap, 8-foot home bar supplied by a 10-gallon brewing system in his basement.

As the “Beerdrinker of the Year,” Wilson won free beer for life from the Wynkoop Brewing Company, $250 worth of beer at his favorite pub, and clothing which proclaims the title. He’ll also have his name engraved on a trophy, and will brew a special batch of beer that will be served at next year’s Beerdrinker of the Year event.

You can read Wilson’s beer blog at www.brewvana.net .
