Three people were said to have been injured during a collision Monday afternoon between a pickup and a tractor, 1.5 miles south of Cumberland near 68526 690th Street. The accident happened at around 3:45-p.m. Two people were being extricated from the pickup just before 4-p.m. The tractor was on its side and the road was blocked.

Cass County Sheriff Darby McLaren told KJAN news the tractor and pickup were both heading south on 690th Street, when the tractor went to make a left turn. The pickup either tried to pass or avoid colliding with the tractor when the accident occurred.

Two men in the pickup along with the driver of the tractor, were transported to the hospital. The tractor drivers’ injuries appeared to be minor, according to the sheriff.

No names have been released at this time.

A child passenger in a vehicle involved in a collision Friday evening in Carroll County, was flown to a hospital in Des Moines. The crash occurred east of Manning on Highway 141 near Eagle Avenue, at around 4:30-p.m.

Authorities say witnesses reported that a vehicle was stopped to negotiate a turn and was rear-ended by another vehicle, forcing it into oncoming traffic where it was struck by the third vehicle. A female child passenger, Kori Beckendorf, suffered serious injuries during the multi-vehicle collision, and has undergone a couple of surgeries, but is expected to recover.

Highway 141 was closed to through traffic for nearly an hour following the crash while emergency crews were on the scene and the vehicles were removed. Additional information is currently not available.

Sheriff’s officials in Mills County report a Nebraska man was arrested Sunday, for Child Endangerment. 31-year old Juan Antinio Nolasco, of Omaha, was arrested at around 4:45-p.m. following a traffic stop on 195th Street. Nolasco was also cited on seven counts of Failure to use a Child Restraint device, Speeding, and having no valid driver’s license. His bond was set at $2,000.

Authorities said also, 55-year old Patricia Louise Smith, of Glenwood, was arrested Friday evening on a warrant for Ongoing Criminal Mischief and Unauthorized use of a credit card. Smith was being held in the Mills County Jail on $25,000 bond.

And, 34-year old Maria Angela Meeganbiggs, of Delta, IA, was arrested Thursday morning at the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office, on a Mills County warrant for Failure to Appear on an original, Driving While Revoked, charge. Her bond was set at $5,000.

A man from Cass County was arrested last week for Probation Violation. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year old Marshall Brandon Fischer, of Atlantic, was arrested April 5th at the Cass County Jail on an Adair County warrant issued in Oct. 2015. Fischer was transferred to Adair County where he was being held without bond at the jail in Greenfield.

Also arrested on an Adair County warrant, was 24-year old Robert Kyle Dwayne Wallace, of Winterset. He was taken into custody in Greenfield last Thursday, on a warrant for Failure to Appear at his sentencing hearing on an original charge of 2nd Degree Theft. The warrant was issued April 5th. Wallace was later released on a $5,000 cash bond.

Deputies in Adair County also arrested 31-year old Cole John Daughenbaugh, of Greenfield. He was taken into custody Saturday night for Serious Domestic Assault. He also faces an Obstruction of Emergency Communications charge, for allegedly taking his victims’ phone and breaking it, making them unable to call 9-1-1. Cole Daughenbaugh was released from custody Sunday, on $1,000 bond.

And, 18-year old Dylan James Albaugh-Cornelison, of Fontanelle, was arrested by Adair County Sheriff’s Deputies last Thursday, for Driving Under Suspension. Albaugh-Cornelison plead guilty to the charge, served his sentence and was released after paying a fine.

Officials with the Iowa Department of Public Safety say a man on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry’s “Most Wanted” list, has been apprehended. 54-year old Jack Ray Steinspring, whose last known address was in Clarinda, had been convicted in Feb. 1996 for Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree, for an incident or incidents in Pottawattamie County involving a female under the age of 13. He was also convicted in Dec. 1980 in Nebraska, for 1st Degree Sexual Abuse. He was wanted for Failure to Comply with the State Sex Offender Registry, a Class-D Felony. Steinspring has had multiple violations of the Registry since he was required to register, in 2007.

Additional details concerning his arrest are not currently available.

The Glenwood Police Department reports three arrests took place, Saturday: 23-year old Lindsey Krause, of Glenwood, was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Her bond was set at $600; 24-year-old Nile Packett, of Glenwood, was arrested for Trespass and Public Intoxication. His bond was set at  $600; and, 47-year-old Robert Rudd, of Glenwood, was arrested Saturday in Glenwood, on a Trespass charge. His bond was set at $300.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports a man from Audubon County was arrested Saturday on an OWI charge. 22-year old Gunnar Michael Blum, of Kimballton, was arrested for OWI/2nd Offense. Blum was taken to the Cass County Jail where he was released later that day on his own recognizance.

Police in Audubon are investigating the armed robbery Sunday night, of a Subway sandwich shop. Audubon Police Officer Coby Gust told KJAN News the incident happened at the store located on north Highway 71, at around 9:30-p.m., Sunday. Gust said a man dressed in black from head-to-toe, entered the store and verbally demanded money from a male clerk. He displayed what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun. No injuries were reported. The suspect left out the back door on foot, in an unknown direction of travel. It’s not known if he used a get-away vehicle after he left the store.

Audubon Police are interviewing employees of the store to see if there was any video surveillance of the incident. And, according to reports, another business, B’s Trading Post, in Audubon, was burglarized Sunday night. No employees were present at the time the incident occurred, and it’s not clear exactly when the business was hit.
