Sports

April 15th, 2016 by Ric Hanson

With five victories in its last six games the Iowa Hawkeye baseball team has established a solid home field advantage. Beginning today (Friday) they will try to prove the can win on the road. The Hawkeyes take a 16-15 overall record and a 5-4 Big Ten mark to Indiana to open a three game series. Coach Rick Heller’s team has won only two of 12 games on the road.

Iowa is 10-2 at home and Heller says his team is gaining confidence. Indiana has won six straight and takes a 4-2 record into tonight’s series opener. Iowa will send sophomore C.J. Eldred to the mound in the series opener. The Mount Vernon native is 2-3 on the season.
