2 burglaries reported in Mills County

The Mills County Sheriff’s Office are investigating recent reports of burglaries, in Glenwood. Two Glenwood men reported incidents of Burglary in the 3rd degree occurred at a location on Keys Avenue. The incidents were reported Tuesday morning. No other details were released.

4 people arrested Tuesday on drug charges, in Red Oak

A search warrant executed Tuesday at a residence in Red Oak, resulted in the arrest of four people on drug charges. Red Oak Police say all four subjects were taken into custody at 102 W. Joy Street.

45-year old Angela Kay Shetterly, of Red Oak, was charged with Gathering Where Controlled Substances were unlawfully used, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Prescription Pills.

23-year old Isaias Guerra, of Red Oak, was also arrested for Gathering where controlled substances were used and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also faces a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance/Marijuana.

19-year old Cameron Edward Sickels, of Red Oak, was arrested for Gathering where controlled substances were used. And, an unidentified 17-year old was arrested at the same location for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Red Oak Police were assisted in the execution of the search warrant, by Trooper with the Iowa State Patrol, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.

Glenwood man arrested for OWI & eluding

Police in Glenwood report a man was arrested Tuesday, on an OWI charge. 49-year old Brian Courtier, of Glenwood, was arrested for OWI 1st Offense and Eluding. His bond was set at $2000 cash (or surety).

Injury accident in Harlan, Monday

Police in Harlan say one person was transported to Myrtue Memorial Hospital following an accident Monday at 8th and Chatburn Streets. Officials say Bruce Heilesen, of Harlan, complained of head and neck pain, after his 1998 Honda collided with a 2000 Dodge. Heilesen was transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

Officials say the accident happened as Heilesen was traveling west on Chatburn Avenue, in the outside lane.  The Dodge, driven by Dorothy Lefeber, of Harlan, was traveling east on Chatburn and had stopped to turn north. Her view of Heilesen’s Honda was obstructed by a westbound truck traveling in the inside lane Chatburn. Heilsen’s vehicle made contact with the right front tire area of the Dodge during the collision.

Damage from the mishap amounted to $4,000.  No citations were issued.

Harlan P-D reports a drug-related, & other arrests

Police in Harlan, Saturday, arrested a man on drug charges, following a traffic stop. 43-year old Steven McDonald was taken to the Shelby County jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, prohibited acts penalties, and driving while barred.

Last Friday, Harlan Police arrested 58-year old Ronald Daeges, after officers investigated a report of a person urinating on a tree.  When officers arrived they found Daeges unconscious on the ground.  Daeges was taken to Myrtue Medical Center.  Once he was cleared by the hospital staff, Daeges was taken to the Shelby County jail where he was charged with intoxication in public.

And, there were two arrests last Thursday (April 14th), in Harlan. 49-year old Timothy Turner, of Harlan, was taken into custody when officers responded to a report of man who had wrecked his bicycle and was having difficulty getting up.  Turner was taken to the Shelby County jail where he was charged with intoxication in public. And, 52-year old Karla Frohwein-Leinen, of Harlan, was arrested after officers were called to a disturbance at the Lincoln Pines apartments.  Frohwein-Leinen was taken to the Shelby County Jail where she was charged with trespassing.

Clarinda P.D. Executes Drug Arrest Sweep Tuesday evening

Clarinda Police Chief Keith Brothers reports his officers Tuesday evening served three arrests warrants that were issued following a drug investigation conducted jointly by the Iowa Division  of Narcotics Enforcement, the Page County Sheriff’s Department and the Clarinda Police Department. The investigation involved the alleged felony distribution of marijuana.

Taken into custody was 19-year old Dylann James Everett, 21-year old Skyler William Shane,  and 22-year old Brandon James Sweet, all of Clarinda. All three individuals were booked into the Page County Jail and later released from custody after posting bond in the amount of $5,000 each, pending further action in Page County District Court.

All information has been forwarded to the office of Page County Attorney Carl M. Sonksen for the consideration of formal charges.
