Greenfield Municipal Utilities has issued a Bottled Water Advisory.  GMU officials say a water sample showed high turbidity levels. Also, they have observed a blue-green algae bloom on the lake. With these issues, officials warn there could be an increased chance that the water could contain disease-causing organisms and compounds that could cause adverse health effects.

Residents should use an alternative source of water until further notice. Do not boil the water. Boiling the water will not destroy compounds potentially produced by the blue-green algae which may become more concentrated as a result of boiling.  Greenfield Municipal Utilities is collecting water samples and will provide additional information as soon as it is available.

Glenwood Police arrested 31 year old William Meredith of Glenwood on Monday, July 16 and charged him with Domestic Abuse/Assault and Assault causing bodily injury. Bond is pending an appearance before a magistrate.

Also, on Sunday, July 15, 24 year old Joshua Parker of Glenwood was arrested for being a fugitive from justice. His bond was set at $10,000 cash only.

Trevor Anthony Jon Hubbard, 20, of Des Moines, was arrested June 17th on an outstanding warrant for Theft 2nd Degree and Arson 2nd Degree. The charges stem from an investigation into a motor vehicle theft and arson in January 2017.

Amanda Lynn Thompson, 37, of Audubon, was arrested June 28th on an outstanding warrant for violation of probation. She was held in the Audubon County Jail until she posted bond and was released.

Cole Allen Bruns, 19, of Elk Horn, was arrested June 30th for Operating While Intoxicated. He was released the following day on his own recognizance.

James Aaron Humlicek, 30, of Exira, was arrested on July 7th for disorderly conduct. He was released later in the day on his own recognizance.

Timothy Dethleff Asmus, 18, of Audubon, was arrested July 9th for Violation of Probation. He is currently being held in the Audubon County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Bobby Lee Stevens, 37, of Audubon, was arrested July 10th for Operating While Intoxicated. He was released the following day after an appearance before the magistrate.

Aaron Lee Ihnken, 31, of Atlantic, turned himself in on July 16th for an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Appear on a Violation of Probation charge. He is currently being held in the Audubon County Jail on a $3,000 bond.

Creston Police report that on Monday, July 16 at 12:32 pm Lansey Cheramie, 30, of Creston was arrested at his residence on a Clarke County warrant for the charge of Failure to Appear on the charge of Driving While License Under Suspension. He was transferred to custody of Clarke County.

CASTANA, Iowa — On June 26, 2018, co-workers of Cheryl Stowe contacted the Monona County Sheriff’s Office and requested that a welfare check be conducted at Cheryl Stowe’s residence because she did not show up for work that day. Monona County Deputies and Iowa State Troopers responded to the rural address of 13797 Oak Avenue, which lies between the towns of Ticonic and Castana, in North Central Monona County. Deputies and Troopers were not able to locate Cheryl Stowe at her residence.

On June 27, 2018 Monona County Deputies and Officers from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources located a deceased body approximately 1.5 miles from Cheryl Stowe’s residence. The body was transported to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office for a forensic autopsy.

The Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body as 66 year-old Cheryl Stowe.

This is an ongoing joint criminal investigation by the Monona County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office, the Monona County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office. Several agencies also provided assistance and support during the initial investigation to include the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Mapleton Police Department, and Whiting Police Department. Investigators do not believe there is any present danger to the public. No other details will be released at this time.

Shane Curtis White, age 32, of Clearfield, was arrested 7/13/18 at 2:30 PM at the Union County Law Enforcement Center for Theft 2nd. White is being held in the Union County Jail on $5,000.00 bond.

Pottawattamie County Deputies have arrested an Oakland man and charged him with 4th Degree Criminal Mischief. Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Officials report that 19-year-old Shane Elam Rouse II was in custody on July 12th for an OWI investigation. While he was being photographed, Rouse flipped his hands, which were cuffed, from the back to his front and grabbed a sharp object out of his pants and scratched the camera lens. The camera lens was valued at $405 and was destroyed.
