Mansfield’s trio of second-half threes kept Missouri at bay, as the Tigers could not get closer than 12 points in the second half after trailing by 17, 39-22, at the half. Mansfield added a career-high eight rebounds for the Cyclones.

The Cyclones went inside during the first portion of the first half. Three straight successful jumpers by Anna Prins and two buckets by Poppens were part of a 16-2 run that put the Cyclones up 21-7 with 8:06 left in the half. The Cyclones poured in four more 3-pointers, the last from the corner by Kelsey Harris with 58 seconds left in the half, as Iowa State led by as much as 19 in the first half.

While making 6-of-10 3-point attempts in the first half, Iowa State was holding Missouri to 25 percent shooting from the floor. Kyley Simmons and BreAnna Brock had 14 points each to lead the Tigers.

Iowa State plays at Texas Tech at 1:30 p.m. CST Sunday on ESPN2.

Iowa womens basketball coach Lisa Bluder is hopeful that Jamie Printy will be ready for the start of next season. The junior suffered a season ending knee injury last week in a victory at Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes will be on their home court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City for two games this week, beginning with tonight’s matchup against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The game begins at 7-p.m.  Iowa will also host Michigan State, at 2-p.m. Sunday. A 6-5 Big Ten record and 14-10 overall mark this week, gives the Hawks a chance to boost their post-season hopes.
