The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office reports a Denison woman was arrested early this (Sunday) morning, on drug charges. Officials say Police in Denison requested the Sheriff’s K-9 unit check for the presence of narcotics, and as a result, the dog, “Bayou” alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics. 29-year old Amber Lea Nelson, of Denison, was arrested on aggravated misdemeanor charges that include Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Cocaine, along with a simple misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia charge. Her bond was set at $2,000.
One person was reportedly injured Saturday, during an accident involving a Personal Water Craft on Lake Manawa, in Council Bluffs. According to the Daily NonPareil, a man suffered a leg injury during the jet ski-type accident that happened at around 5-p.m.
The unidentified man was taken to a Council Bluffs hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Additional information is currently not available.
