MELVIN K. DINESEN, 73, of Harlan died Friday, November 27th in Omaha, NE.  Funeral Services for MELVIN K. DINESEN will be held Tuesday, December 1st at 10:30am at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan.

Friends may call on Monday, November 30th from 1:00pm-8:00pm with family greeting friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan.

Burial will be in the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan.

ANNA M. REHA, 71, of Adair died Thursday, November 26th at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.  Mass of Christian Burial for ANNA M. REHA will be held Tuesday, December 1st at 10:30am in the All Saints Catholic Church in Stuart.  Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Adair has the arrangements.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 30th from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Adair with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm.

Burial will be in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Adair.

IRENE ELIZABETH HUEBNER, 97, of Harlan died Friday, November 27th at Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan.  Mass of Christian Burial for IRENE ELIZABETH HUEBNER will be held Tuesday, December 1st at 11:00am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan.  Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 30th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with a rosary at 7:00pm that evening.

Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Panama.

NICEVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Jameel McKay scored 23 points, and No. 4 Iowa State advanced to the Emerald Coast Classic final with a 99-77 victory over Virginia Tech on Friday.

Each of Iowa State’s starters scored in double figures, and the Cyclones (5-0) had a 52-30 lead at halftime. Abdel Nader had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Monte Norris (14 points), Georges Niang (12) and Naz Mitrou-Long (12) also scored in double figures.

Iowa State, which shot 37 of 64 from the field and made 13 3-pointers, will face the winner of UAB-Illinois on Saturday.

Zach Leday led the Hokies (3-2) with 19 points. Justin Bibbs and Justin Robinson scored 11 apiece, and Seth Allen had 10.

Beachem scores 16, No. 17 Notre Dame beats Iowa

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) – V.J. Beachem scored 16 points, Demetrius Jackson had 12 and No. 17 Notre Dame beat Iowa 68-62 in the consolation round of the AdvoCare Invitational on Friday night.

Bonzie Colson had a pair of layups and Jackson added a third as Notre Dame (4-1) used a 9-2 stretch for a 63-55 lead late.

Jarrod Uthoff had 20 points for Iowa (3-2).

Red Oak Teen arrested two days after incident

The Red Oak Police Department reports the arrest of a Red Oak Woman on Friday on charges stemming from a November 25th incident.  At 8:24pm Friday Officers arrested 18-year-old Cara Belle Hale of Red Oak on charges of 3rd Degree Burglary and 4th Degree Criminal Mischief.  The charges are the result of an incident that happened Wednesday in the 400 Block of Highland Avenue in Red Oak.

Hale was taken to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center and held on $5,000 cash bond.
