MELVIN L. HODGE, 88, of Atlantic, died Tue., April 7th, at the Allen Place, in Atlantic. Funeral services for MELVIN HODGE will be held 10:30-a.m. Sat., April 11th, at the United Methodist Church in Marne.  Roland Funeral Service in Atlantic is handling the arrangements.

Committal services will be held in the Brighton Township Cemetery in Marne.

EDWARD JOHN MILLER, 86, of Portsmouth, died Tue., April 7th, at Myrtue Medical Center, in Harlan. A Mass of Christian Burial service for EDWARD MILLER will be held 10:30-a.m. Fri., April 10th, at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima church in Portsmouth. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

Visitation at the funeral home is from 8-a.m. until noon on Thu., April 9th, and at St. Mary’s Church in Portsmouth, from 2-until 8-pm, Thursday. The family will greet friends at St. Mary’s from 4-until 8-pm Thursday, and a Rosary will be recited at the church beginning at 7-pm, also on Thursday.

Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.

His sons – Randy (Becky) Miller, and Dave Miller (Lisa Schwery),  & Joe (Vicki) Miller, all of Portsmouth; Larry (Cindy) Miller, of Harlan.

His daughters – Kathy (Bryan) Sanford, of Des Moines;  Bev (Dan) Schwery, of Westphalia; Marge (Steve) Denton, of Avoca; Mary (Dennis) Pauley, of Panama, & Amy (Jed) Jensen, of Spirit Lake.

His sisters – Helen Monahan, of Woodbine; Marie Monahan, of Harlan; Margaret Patten, of Omaha, & Theresa (Merle) Kenkel, of Missouri Valley.

28 grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren.

WILLIAM “BILL” OVERTURF, 71, of Anita (& formerly of Adair), died Mon., April 6th, at Caring Acres Nursing & Rehab Center, in Anita. Services for BILL OVERTURF will be held at a later date. A visitation with the family will take place from 2-until 4-p.m. on Sun., April 12th, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic.

Burial will be at a later date.

TIMM FAY, 67, of Corning (& formerly of the Anita & Wiota areas), died Tue., April 7th, at home. A Celebration of Life service for TIMM FAY will be held 11-a.m. Fri., April 17th, at the Pearson Family Funeral Service in Corning.

There is no visitation.
