A public hearing will be held Friday in Greenfield, with regard to Ordinance 3-B, which prescribed the Indigent Burial Program in Adair County, and Repealing the IBP prescribed in Ordinance 3-A, section 6-d. The hearing will take place at 9:30-a.m., during a hearing of the Adair County Board of Supervisors, which begins at 9-a.m.
Following he hearing, the Board will consider the 2nd and 3rd readings and act on a Resolution approving Ordinance 3-B. In other business: the Supervisors will hear from the VA Commissioner, with regard to Commissioner appointments; discuss the Courtyard Use Permit; Hear from the Adair County Auditor, with regard to an office closing for election training, bids for the computer server, and an update on the backup & Information Technology services.
The Supervisors will also: Hear from Sheriff Brad Newton, about a Civil Clerk’s position, and the Jailer/Dispatcher new hire & longevity increase; Receive a report from the County Conservation Board; and act on approving a snow plow truck purchase, Rock contract, the used of Farm-to-Market funds forf road rock, and other Secondary Roads Department matters.
DELBERT GAINES, 74, of Omaha and formerly Atlantic died Mon., June 4th, at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha. Funeral services for DELBERT GAINES will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 11:00 AM at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Family visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 30 at 10:00 AM prior the funeral service.
Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery

His children – Kris (Kevin) Gaines, of Omaha; Dana (Reid) Smith, of Las Vegas, NV; Todd (Laura) Gaines, of Omaha; Vicki (Steve) Lyman, of San Diego, CA; Kelly Gaines, and Nick (Angela) Gaines, of Branson, MO.
7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren

The Iowa Department of Transportation says they will be conducting a rest area users’ opinion survey in June and July to assist in planning for future rest area needs. The same survey will be conducted in a variety of ways.
The survey has been designed to be completed in three to five minutes.
