DES MOINES, IA – Bob Seger announced today that he will have to postpone upcoming tour dates upon receiving his doctor’s orders to attend to an urgent medical issue concerning his vertebrae. No further details are available at this time.

Seger commented “I’m so disappointed to have to suspend the tour as the band is on a great roll. It’s a privilege to play for our amazing fans. Hoping to be back out on the road very soon.”

Seger and his Silver Bullet Band played the 13th sold out show of their 2017 Runaway Train Tour last Thursday in Pittsburgh. On Saturday, Seger had to postpone his 14th show in Columbus. He was scheduled to play in Des Moines at Wells Fargo Arena on Tuesday, October 10.

Rescheduled dates will be announced when available. Tickets sold for concerts that are being rescheduled will be honored at the new dates. More info can be found at www.bobseger.com.

Adair County Sheriff Jeff Vandewater reports Greenfield Police, last week, arrested a man on drug and child endangerment charges. 32-year old Eric Tyler Evans, of Greenfield, was arrested at around 10:40-p.m. on Sept. 26th. He was charged with Child Endangerment for knowingly possessing a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), where a child or children are present. Because Evans allegedly destroyed a cell phone which authorities wanted for evidence during a search warrant, he was charged with Obstructing Prosecution. And, Evans was charged with a Controlled Substance violation (Schedule 4 & 5) for knowingly possessing a green leafy substance with the intent to deliver (Marijuana), along with possession of a scale and baggies. Evans faces a Felony charge also, for Failure to have a Drug Tax Stamp for knowingly possessing 42.5-grams of processed marijuana. He was released the following day on a $14,000 bond.

The Adair County Sheriff’s Office reports also, 62-year old Tina Marie McCrory-Westphal, of Greenfield, was arrested Sept. 27th by Greenfield Police. McCrory-Westphal was taken into custody on an Adair County warrant for Theft in the 5th degree. She was released later that day on a $300 bond.

63-year old Dale Douglas Custard, of Stuart, was arrested Sept. 24th by Stuart Police, for Driving While Barred. He was released the following day on a $2,000 bond.

And, 54-year old Airzona Peter McGregor, Jr., of Des Moines, was arrested Sept. 27th by Adair County Deputies, on a Polk County warrant. He was transferred directly into the custody of Polk County authorities.

Two men have been arrested on separate warrants, in Page County. The Sheriff’s Office reports 48-year old Lyle Dean Simpson, of Shenandoah, was arrested today (Tuesday), at around 3-a.m. Simpson was taken into custody on a Kossuth County bench warrant for failure to appear on an Order to show Cause in a Kossuth County Case.  Simpson was unable to post the $10,00 cash only bond and was being held until the Kossuth County Sheriff can transport him back to Kossuth County for court proceedings.

And, at around 1:25-p.m. Monday, Deputies with the Page County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year old Ian Michael Young , of Bedford, on a Page County Warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of OWI 1st Offense.  Young was arrested at the Page County Sheriff’s Office.  He was unable to post the $1,000 cash only bond and was being held in the Page County Jail pending future court proceedings.

Police in Council Bluffs are looking for a man involved in an alleged attempted burglary and stabbing incident. Authorities say at around 10:45-p.m. Monday, Officers responded to a residence in 2300 block of Avenue H, with regard to a burglary to a vehicle that had just occurred. Officers located a 40-year old victim, Jeff Culley, who reported that he had interrupted an attempted burglary to one of his vehicles which had been parked in his driveway. The suspect attempted to flee the scene and Culley chased after him, with a physical altercation ensuing.

During the struggle, the suspect stabbed Culley multiple times in the abdomen and was able to escape, fleeing from the area westbound on Avenue H, on foot. The wounds were not life threatening and the victim refused medical attention at the scene. The suspect is described as a male (unknown age or race), about 5’8” tall, 200 lbs, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. DENISON – The city of Denison reported about 5,000 gallons of wastewater discharged from a manhole near 20th Street and the Denison Elementary School on Saturday. City officials learned of the discharge about 3 p.m. and responded quickly to unplug a sewer line, vacuum up pooled material and disinfect the area around the manhole. During a follow up inspection Monday, DNR staff noted the city cleaned the area adequately.

The DNR will consider enforcement action, if appropriate.

The Adair County Board of Supervisors are set to meet 9-a.m. Wednesday in the Adair County Boardroom at the Courthouse, in Greenfield. During the session, the Board will discuss and/or act on the following items: The Zion Fiscal Year 2017 annual report; Manure Management Plan (MMP) updates; Township Clerk wages, and Approval of a New Sheriff Reserve Officer.

Soon thereafter, the Board will hear from Sawyer Hansen, Assistant to the County Engineer, with regard to the signing of materials contracts with Oden Enterprises, as they pertain to a Secondary Roads project. Hospital Board spokesman Willard Olesen will discuss a Health Care Services Resolution. And, Jane Ernst along with Marcia Hendricks, with Adair County Health System CE, will talk about changes in Public Health and Home care, to be followed by discussion.

Iowa farmers are moving into their fields to harvest crops. Despite some wet conditions across sections of the state last week, a new report shows Iowa farmers made progress in harvesting corn and soybeans.The USDA’s survey indicates six-percent of the Iowa corn crop and 16-percent of the soybean crop had been harvested through October 1. The corn harvest is nearly two weeks behind average, while the collection of soybeans is just three days behind average. The USDA rates 60-percent of corn crop in good to excellent condition, while 61-percent of the state’s soybean crop is rated good to excellent.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office says a Creston man’s pickup was stolen sometime between 8-p.m. Monday and 6-a.m. today (Tuesday). The red, 2011 Ford Ranger pickup with Iowa license plate 023 YXL was taken while it was parked at the man’s residence located in the 2300 block of High & Dry Road, in Creston. The pickup has a silver toolbox mounted in the bed. The loss was estimated at $10, 500. If anyone has any information with regard to the theft or location of the vehicle, please call the Union County Sheriff’s Office at 1-641-782-8402, or your local law enforcement agency.

A vehicle ended-up in a Union County Lake Monday night, after the driver, who authorities say was speeding and operating in a reckless or careless manner, lost control of the vehicle he was driving. The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at around 11:17-p.m., Monday, as 20-year old Darian Scott Stone, of Davenport, was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus.  Stone was traveling around the McKinley Lake gravel spillway in Creston, when he lost control of the car, which entered the lake on the west side. Stone, and his passenger were not injured during the incident. Damage to the car was estimated at $5,000. Stone was cited for Failure to have a valid driver’s license.

A traffic stop on a speeding SUV Sunday morning in Pottawattamie County, resulted in the arrest of a Minnesota man on a drug charges. A Sheriff’s Deputy stopped the SUV on Interstate 80 eastbound a little after 9-a.m. Sunday, near Council Bluffs. Authorities say a “free air sniff” by a Police Service Dog around the vehicle, resulted in the animal alerting to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A search was conducted, during which 10.8-pounds of marijuana was found in the cargo area of the SUV. The weed was in several containers located in a black duffle bag. The driver of the vehicle, 47-year old Michael Steve Gudowski, of New Hope, MN., was placed under arrest for Possession with the Intent to Deliver or Distribute, Marijuana.

And, a man from Oakland was arrested at around 9:15-a.m. Monday, after Deputies investigated a reported Theft from the Casey’s Store, in Oakland. 18-year old Tristan Michael Herrera allegedly took a can or dispenser of Butane valued at $2.39. Herrera was arrested for Theft in the 5th Degree.
