(Greenfield, Iowa) – Adair County Sheriff Jeff Vandewater, Monday evening, provided details on five recent arrests. According to the report:
Council Bluffs Police are searching for information on a suspicious death on the Missouri River. On Saturday, August 27th at 2:45 p.m. Pottawattamie County Communications received a call from a boater traveling North on the Missouri River stating he had observed a dead body floating in the river. Council Bluffs Police and Fire Departments arrived and were able to locate and bring the body to shore.
Forensic personnel were able to identify the subject using fingerprints. The person was determined to be 30-year-old Anthony Anderson of Council Bluffs. No further information has been released but the death is being investigated as a suspicious death.

The Page County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest on Sunday, August 28th of 18-year-old Clayton Michael Kenneth Tillman of Clarinda after an investigation was conducted for a violation of the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. Tillman was charged with two counts of Violating the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office and Officers from the Clarinda Police Department report that they responded to a disturbance at Nodaway Valley Park on Monday. After an investigation 37-year-old David Duane James of Albany, MO was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. He was taken to the Page County Jail and booked in on $300 bond.
The Glenwood Police Department reports three arrests on Saturday, August 27th.
Officers arrested 50-year-old Eric Walters of Bellevue, NE for Public Intoxication. Walters was booked in to the Mills County Jail on $300 bond.
36-year-old Michelle Taylor-Kruntorad of Bellevue, NE was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond was set at $1,000.
25-year-old Austin Swift of Omaha, NE was arrested for OWI 1st Offense. Bond was set at $1,000.
The Creston Police Department reports 4 arrests over the weekend.
On Friday, August 26th at 9:29 a.m. Officers arrested 32-year-old Brooke Marie Carter of Creston on a Union County Warrant for Theft 5th Degree. Carter was arrested at 901 N Elm St. and was transported to the Union County Jail and later released on bond.
Also on Friday at 11:08 p.m. Creston Police arrested 55-year-old Joseph Edwin King Sr. at 100 Maple Street. He was arrested on a Walcott Police Warrant for Failure to Appear for Indecent Exposure. He was booked in to the Union County Jail and later released on $1,000 cash only bond.
On Saturday, August 27th at 1:58 a.m. Creston Police arrested 20-year-old Kason Eugene Hulett of Lenox for OWI 2nd Offense and Driving While Revoked. Hulett was booked in to the Union County Jail and later released on $3,000 cash or surety bond.
Also on Sunday, August 28th at 10:16 p.m. Officers arrested 20-year-old Courtney Lin Whitney at her home. Whitney was later cited and released on a charge of Harassment 2nd Degree.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports two arrests on Sunday.
At approximately 3:39 a.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of 110th Street. After investigation they arrested 35-year-old Jessie Bruce Fitzwater of Council Bluffs on two Adams County Warrants, one for Failure to Appear on Possession of Methamphetamine and the other for Failure to Appear on an OWI charge. Fitzwater was taken to the Adams County Jail to be booked in.
At 8:53 p.m. on Sunday Deputies tried stopping a white Nissan Altima at the intersection of 110th Street and C Avenue and the vehicle began eluding, continuing eastbound. The vehicle eventually came to a stop at H Avenue and 110th Street and the driver Clyde Everette Zeigler of Red Oak was arrested. He was charged withe Driving While Suspended and Eluding Law Enforcement. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and held on $1,491.25 bond.
(Hubbard, Iowa) – A collision between a semi tractor-trailer and a station wagon Sunday night, south of Hubbard, in Hardin County, resulted in the death of one person and injuries to another. The Iowa State Patrol reports a 1996 Volvo station wagon was traveling east on County Road D-65, and failed to stop at the posted intersection with Highway 65.
A 2005 Kenworth semi traveling south on Highway 65 struck the Volvo. The driver of the station wagon died at the scene. Another person was injured and transported by Hubbard EMS to the hospital in Iowa Falls. No names had been released as of this report. The accident remains under investigation.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the Hardin County Emergency Squad, Hubbard Fire and EMS, Iowa Falls EMS and the Iowa DOT’s Motor Vehicle Enforcement Agency assisted at the scene.
