DR. LEWIS A. MILLER, 84, of Council Bluffs (Formerly of Walnut) died Thursday, September 17th.  Services for DR. LEWIS A. MILLER will be held at a later date per his wishes in Wray, CO.

DR. LEWIS A. MILLER is survived by:

Children: Patty (Phil) Hetrick of Atlantic.  Marti (Jennifer) Miller of Durango, CO.  Olin Miller (Girlfriend Kelly Lundgren) of Lincoln, NE.

Brother: Robert (Meredith) Miller.

Sister: Beverly Grant.

Creston PD reports numerous weekend arrests

The Creston Police Department has released details on a number of weekend arrests.

On Saturday, September 19th Creston Police made 4 separate arrests.  At 3:48am officers arrested 22-year-old Trevor Nichols on the 200 block of North Maple Street and charged him with Public Intoxication.  He was released from the Union County Jail on a $300 bond.

At 4:34pm Saturday Creston PD arrested 24-year-old James Syrotchen Jr. of Holly Hill, FL at Highway 34 and Chestnut Street on the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijunana.  He was released from the Union County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

At 8:30pm Saturday officers arrested 24-year-old Frank Mills Jr. of Creston at Elm and Montgomery Streets for Driving While Suspended.  Mills Jr. was released from the Union County Jail on $300 bond.

At 10:25pm Saturday Creston PD arrested 31-year-old Cassy Holcomb of Creston at 611 North Maple Street and charged her with Domestic Assault Simple. She was released from the Ringgold County Jail on $300 bond.

On Sunday Creston PD arrested 38-year-old Gerald Lawrence of Creston at 402 North Oak Street on the charge of Public Intoxication.  He was released from the Union County Jail on a $300 bond.

The Atlantic Police Department reports two recent arrests.

On Thursday, September 17th 52-year-old David Charles of Atlantic turned himself in on a Cass County Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Charles was booked.

Also on Thursday 24-year-old Mark Fredericksen of Atlantic was arrested for Public Intoxication.  He was taken to the Cass County Jail and booked in.

On Saturday, September 19th Atlantic Police arrested 24-year-old Alexandra Smaridge of Atlantic for Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  She was taken to the Cass County Jail and booked in.

Also on Saturday officers arrested 26-year-old Jerett Justice for Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was taken to the Cass County Jail and booked in.

RHONDA SIMONTON, 61, of Atlantic died Saturday, September 19th at the Heritage House in Atlantic.  A gathering of family and friends will be held for RHONDA SIMONTON on Thursday, September 24th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic.

Memorials may be directed to the family to use per Rhonda’s wishes at a later date.

RHONDA SIMONTON is survived by:

Daughter: Amy (Joe) Hetrick of Iowa City, IA.

Son: Josh (Christina) Simonton of Atlantic.

CLIFFORD KAUFFMAN, 96, of York, NE (Formerly of Marne) died Saturday, September 19th at Hearthstone Care Center in York, NE.  Funeral services for CLIFFORD KAUFFMAN will be held on Friday, September 25th at 10:30 am at the Redline Church of Christ, 5 miles north of Jacksonville.  Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.

Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Redline Church of Christ.

Burial in the Redline Cemetery.
