Adair County to implement new software for school elections

News

August 19th, 2015 by admin

Adair County Auditor Mindy Schaefer announced Wednesday the implementation of a program called Precinct Atlas during the upcoming school election. Precinct Atlas is an electronic Poll Book which contains all the registered voters eligible to vote in an election.

Voters will give their name to the election workers, who will be able to look the voter up on a laptop and verify the voter’s information. Voters who have changes in their information or voters that are registering on Election Day will be processed immediately and put in the system while they are at the polling location.

Voters will also have the option to scan their Driver’s License or Non Operators License for the look up and verification process. Schaefer says Precinct Atlas will help election workers with efficiency and accuracy in processing voters prior to giving them a ballot.
