A search warrant executed at around 7-a.m. Tuesday in Creston, resulted in the arrest of five people on drug, and other charges. Officers with the Creston Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the address of 1000 W. Montgomery St., in Creston. Items located during the search include: Over 5-oz. of Marijuana, one firearm, several rounds of rifle ammunition and approximately $2000 in cash.
Police arrested 28-year old Devin Guzman McInnis, 21-year old Danny Guzman, both of Creston, along with 32-year old Omasan MaCarthy, and 25-year Ashley Griggs-Thomas, and 25-year old Equishah Jacque Shanae Williams, all of Des Moines.
McInnis, Danny Guzman, and MaCarthy face charges that include Possession with the Intent to Sell – Marijuana, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. McInnis also faces a charge of Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp. All three men were later released from the Union County Jail on $5000 bond, each. Ashley Griggs-Thomas and Equishah Williams were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana. Both were later released on $1,000 bond, each.
In other news, Creston Police say a bank on W. Taylor Street in Creston, reported Tuesday, that a counterfeit $20 bill was received at the McDonald’s restaurant in Creston. The bill was found in a deposit bag from the night of May 16th.
