The Atlantic Girls Swimming team picked up a dual meet win on Thursday night. The Trojans beat Abraham Lincoln/Thomas Jefferson/St. Albert in a dual 103-64.
Atlantic was led by Mckenna Ewoldt and Cambry Miller as they both took two individual firsts on the night and were part of winning relay teams as well. Ewoldt won in the 100m freestyle and 200 meter freestyle. Miller was a winner in the 50m and 400m freestyle. Annamaria Lowary won the 200m individual medley and Jessica Hartwig won the 100m breaststroke. The Trojans also won the 200m freestyle relay, 200m medley relay, and 400m freestyle relay. All those individuals mentioned along with Madelyn Kickland and Clare Christensen were part of winning relay teams.
Atlantic will next travel to Marshalltown on Saturday to participate in their invitational.

Officials with the Cass County Health System in Atlantic, say the next “Healthy U” session at the Cass County Memorial Hospital, is all about “Tummy Troubles.” The session which takes place at Noon on Sept. 22nd in CCMH Conference Room #2, will be presented by Dr. Edna Becht.
Dr. Becht says “Everyone deals with digestion issues at some point. We’ll cover general information about digestion, indigestion, self-care and at-home treatments, and when you need further evaluation.” Dr. Becht is the newest physician at Atlantic Medical Center. She provides comprehensive family medicine services, including obstetric care. Dr. Becht recently completed her family medicine residency at Memorial Family Medicine in South Bend, Indiana, and is a graduate of Des Moines University.
Healthy U is a free educational series offered by Cass County Health System that focuses on a different health topic each month. The Union County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest at around 7:30-a.m., Thursday, of 21-year old Todd Michael Murray, of Creston. Murray was taken into custody for Driving Under Suspension, following a traffic stop on Highway 25, near 130th Street, in Union County. Murray was released from the Union County Jail after pleading guilty before the Judge.
Officials in Harlan say the East side of Vet’s Auditorium parking lot will be closed to vehicle traffic during home varsity football games – Beginning today (Friday, September 16th), for the home football game with Glenwood. The traffic flow changes are being implemented to improve public safety during home varsity football games.
Starting at 4 pm, until departure of buses after the game, the traveled area between Vet’s Auditorium and Merrill Field will be closed to vehicle traffic. Vehicles entering Merrill Field from Elm Street will be able to circle the parking lot and exit on Elm Street. Vehicles entering from Chatburn Avenue or 12th Street will be able to exit to Chatburn or 12th Street.
