The Glenwood Police Department reports three, recent arrests. Today (Monday), 22-year old Colton McDaniel, of Pacific Junction, was arrested for Attempted Burglary and Domestic Abuse Assault. McDaniel was being held in the Mills County Jail without bond, until making an appearance before a Magistrate Judge.

Saturday, Glenwood Police arrested 26-year old Herndon Buie, of Ashford, AL, on a charge of Public Intoxication. Bond was set at $300. And, on Friday, 55-year old Carl Carlson, of Shenandoah, was arrested in Glenwood for 4th degree Theft and Trespassing. Bond was set at $1,300.

Cass County Sheriff’s report (8/1/16): 3 arrested on drug charges

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports three men from Maryland were arrested Saturday on drug charges. 24-year old Daniel Zachary Damiba, 25-year old Shem Christian Smith, and 27-year old Daquon Brandon Vickers, all of Maryland, were each charged with Possession of Marijuana/1st Offense. They were taken to the Cass County Jail and released Sunday on their own recognizances.

Last Friday, deputies in Cass County arrested 29-year old Craig Steven Mumm, of Anita, on charges of Domestic Abuse and Obstruction of Emergency Communications. Mumm was taken to the Cass County Jail and was released later that day on $1,000 bond.

Union County Sheriff’s report (8/1/16)

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest Sunday afternoon, of 53-year old Lisa Marie Bird, of Lorimor. The woman was brought to the Union County Law Enforcement Center and charged with Domestic Assault. Her bond was set at $300. And, a woman from Afton reported Sunday morning, that a tire on her pickup truck was slashed overnight Saturday or early Sunday morning, in Lorimor. The damage was estimated at $100.

Sheriff officials said also, a motorcycle-vs-deer accident Saturday morning resulted in two people being transported by private vehicle to the Greater Regional Medical Center, in Creston. 47-year old David Love, of Lorimor, was traveling south on Rea Road at around 9:35-a.m., Saturday, when a deer ran out of the ditch and into the side of Love’s 2004 Harley Davidson. Love managed to keep the cycle upright during the accident, and pulled over to the side of the road. A passenger on the cycle, 41-year old Jessica Comstock, of Lorimor, complained of pain and was also transported by private vehicle to the hospital. The cycle sustained $1,500 damage during the collision.

Sheriff’s officials in Pottawattamie County say a Central Iowa woman arrested last week on drug and theft charges, is now facing a charges of Giving False Information and Identification. A woman who identified herself as 23-year old Leslie Rodriguez, was identified by another inmate at the Pott. County Jail, as 23-year old Consuelo Sanchez.

Sanchez was originally taken into custody after the vehicle she was driving was discovered in the ditch off Interstate 80, at the 24 mile-marker. Sanchez was initially charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance/Marijuana, and Theft in the 2nd degree (for possessing a vehicle that was reported stolen). Deputies recovered a black 2006 Acura TL at the scene, along with a half-gram of marijuana.

The Sheriff’s Office said also, 35-year old Brandi Lynette Pendgraft, of Council Bluffs, was arrested Saturday evening following a traffic stop on Highway 183. Pendgraft was charged with OWI/1st offense, and cited for Improper Use of lanes.

Also arrested Saturday, was 18-year old Peter Douglas Hobart, of Council Bluffs. Hobart was taken into custody on warrants for Felony Theft in the 2nd degree, and a Serious Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct, charge. His arrest Saturday occurred after a deputy pulled over a vehicle that was known to have been involved in a pursuit, last Friday. Hobart told the deputy he believed his brother was driving at the time of the pursuit.

Creston woman arrested for OWI

The Creston Police Department reports the arrest on Friday, of 40-year old Carla Millard. The Creston woman was arrested on an OWI/1st offense charge and later released from the Union County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

FRANCIS “Duby” DUBEN, 72, of Atlantic, died Monday, August 1st, at Atlantic Specialty Care. Funeral services for FRANCIS DUBEN will be held 3-p.m. Friday, August 5th at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 8-a.m. to 5:30-p.m. Thursday (8/4), with the family present from 5-until 7-p.m.  Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, from 8-a.m. to 3-p.m., prior to the service.; Online condolences may be left at www.rolandfuneralservice.com.

His wife – Janice Duben, of Atlantic.

His brother-in-law: Russell Linthicum, of Atlantic.

His sister-in-law: Julia (Mark) Daugherty, of Rock Port, MO.
