WILMA M. FAGAN, 89, of Adair, died Thursday, Nov. 16th, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services for WILMA FAGAN will be held 10:30-a.m. Mon., Nov. 20th, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Adair. Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Adair has the arrangements.

Visitation with her family will be held 2-until 4-p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19th at the funeral home, where a Rosary begins at 3:30-p.m., Sunday.

Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Adair.

Memorials may be directed to her wishes.

WILMA FAGAN is survived by:

Her daughters – Rose (John) Meredeth, of Ft. Calhoun, NE.; Rita (James) Frie, of La Crescent, MN, and Shirley Fagan, of Urbandale.

Her son – Robert (Diana) Fagan, of Manning.

Her sister – Cleo (Larry) Gipple, of Charlotte, NC.

7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren

2 arrested in Red Oak early today (Friday)

Two men were arrested early this (Friday) morning, in Red Oak. Police say 40-year old Michael Todd Brace, of Red Oak, was arrested on an active Adams County warrant for Accessory to a Misdemeanor. His bond at the Montgomery County Jail was set at $300. And, 22-year old Juan Esquivel, of Shenandoah, was arrested today (Friday) on an active Page County warrant for Probation Revocation. Esquivel was transported to the Page County Jail.

Woman arrested in Villisca Thursday night was wanted on a Felony warrant

Sheriff’s Deputies in Montgomery County, late Thursday night arrested 40-year old Jennifer Sue Graham, of Villisca, on a valid Taylor County Felony warrant for Fraudulent Practices/2nd Degree. Graham was taken into custody at around 11:24-p.m. in the 100 block of E. 6th Street, in Villisca, and transported to the Taylor County Jail, where she was being held without bond.

3 arrests Thursday night in Red Oak

Red Oak Police arrested three people in the same area, Thursday night. At around 9:30-p.m., Officers arrested 19-year old Dawson Allen Squires, of Red Oak, along with 20-year old Alexis Cheyenne Straw. Both were charged with Violating a No Contact Order. At about that same time, 19-year old Michael Wade Hamilton was arrested for Harassment. Those individuals were transported to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center, where Dawson and Straw were being held without bond, and Hamilton was held on $300 bond.

Adams County woman arrested on drug charge after traffic stop

A traffic stop Thursday night in Adams County resulted in the arrest of a woman on a drug-related charge. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reports a vehicle driven by Heather Newkirk, of Nodaway, was pulled over at around 7:37-p.m. Upon further investigation, Newkirk was placed under arrest for Possession of Drug paraphernalia, after deputies located a blue methamphetamine pipe in her purse. Newkirk was also cited for Driving Under Suspension. The Adams County K9 “Tracer” assisted deputies at the scene.

Bus hits train trestle in Council Bluffs, Thursday

Authorities say no injuries were reported Thursday, after a bus struck a train trestle in Council Bluffs. Officers responded to 1300 Big Lake Road at around 3-p.m., after receiving word about the accident.

Upon arrival, officers noted the bus was too tall to make it under the trestle and the top of the bus was severely damaged. The bus was owned by CountryHouse Residence, an assisted-living facility in Council Bluffs. There were six people on the bus and the driver, and all were uninjured in the accident.

Authorities remind drivers that the clearance for this bridge is only eight feet eight inches, so please plan routes accordingly.
