The Atlantic boys’ swim team scored one second, a third, three fourth-place finishes, and three fifth-place finishes at Marshalltown on Saturday.

Marshalltown won the team title with 79 points, Cedar Rapids, Kennedy, 75, Newton, 54, Spencer, 44, and Atlantic, 33.

Lewis Central, Glenwood, Treynor, and Missouri Valley Wrestlers earned multiple top-ten finishes in the girls’ division over the weekend in the Council Bluffs Classic Tournament.

Lewis Central led the way with top finishers: Avaeh Smith earned first place at 120 pounds, Espie Almazan of Lewis Central finished second at 135, and Mahri Manz of Lewis Central was a runner-up at 145.

Eight wrestlers competed for Atlantic, and four finished in the top eight in their respective weight classes. At 126, Aiden Smith (11-1) defeated Alex Gates of Grand Island, Nebraska, by fall in 2:29. The junior also notched his 100th career victory over the weekend. Evan Sorensen (285) finished seventh, winning by forfeit in the medal rounds. Taye Jordan (106) and Braxton Hass (113) finished eighth.

Weston Porter of Lewis Central captured the title at 106; teammate Drew Anderson was 3rd at 120, and Vinny Mayberry of Glenwood finished fifth at the same weight class. Matt Beem of Glenwood topped the stand at 132. Carson Thomsen of Underwood, 5th, and Carter Schorsch of Lewis Central, 7th. Danny Kinsella of Treynor finished second at 150.

Other of the area’s top ten finishers, at 157, Parker Herzog, of Council  Bluffs Abraham Lincon, 7th. At 165,  Maddox Nelson of Underwood, 2nd, Kellan Scott, Glenwood fifth, and Ben Hansen of Missouri Valley 8th. Levi Young of Treynor finished 7th at 190, Mason Koehler of Glenwood, 5th at 215, and Trent Patton of Glenwood, 4th at 285.

The S.W.A.T. Valkyrie earned second place in the high school girls’ Valley Invite on Saturday with a total of 200 points. They finished 55 points under the first-placed finisher Cedar Falls with 255 total points. The S.W.A.T. Girls had strong performances from Grace Britten with a fall in first in class 170 and Haley Armstrong earning first in class 235. Currently Britten sits at 23-1 overall while Armstrong is 21-4. Finishing in second for S.W.A.T were Jazz Christensen, Bailey Lillarad, and Mia South as they all went to the championship matches and lost in the final rounds.
