Sheriff’s officials in Montgomery County reports a Red Oak man was arrested Sunday on burglary charges. 22-year-old Kyle Lee Foster was taken into custody after deputies responded to a call pertaining to a man who had entered a vehicle without the owner’s consent. The incident happened in the 1800 block of Summit Street. Foster was being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Police in Red Oak arrested a Pottawattamie County man Monday afternoon. 43-year old Kevin Michael Steadman, of Council Bluffs, was arrested at the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center on a Red Oak Police Department warrant for Obstruction of Emergency Communications and Domestic Abuse Assault. Steadman was being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $300 bond.

Two people were arrested on separate charges Monday night, in Red Oak. The Police Department reports officers arrested 37-year old Richard Allen Straw, of Red Oak, at the intersection of N. 3rd and Nuckols Streets, for Possession of a Controlled Substance/Marijuana. Straw was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended. He was taken into custody at around 9:40-p.m. and brought to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center, where his bond was set at $2,000.

And, at around11:55-p.m., Red Oak Police arrested 23-year old Kirsten Lynn Wilwerding, of Red Oak. She was found lying in the top floor hallway of an apartment building, allegedly intoxicated. Wilwerding was taken into custody on a charge of Public Intoxication, and brought to the Montgomery County Jail, where she was being held on $300 bond.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco police officers on Monday afternoon arrested a man with Iowa ties described as social media maven and former political consultant who was wanted by federal agents on suspicion of possessing explosives. A law enforcement official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter said 42-year-old Ryan Kelly Chamberlain II was spotted in his white car around 6:22 p.m. Monday near San Francisco’s Crissy Field, just south of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Omaha World-Herald reports authorities in Carroll County are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the successful prosecution of the person responsible for the death of a mother and her adult son a little more than two weeks ago in Glidden.

The bodies of 48-year old Tami DeVore and 30-year old Karl DeVore were found by Carroll County deputies inside the mobile home where Tami DeVore lived., the night of Sunday, May 18th. Authorities have not released how the DeVores died but have said their deaths were the result of homicides. There have been no arrests.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Rural southwest Iowa state Sen. Joni Ernst has emerged as a front-runner in what once was a jumbled field of Republicans hoping to succeed retiring Democratic U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin. Ernst has managed to bring together warring factions of the state and national GOP before the primary. She has aired ads featuring her firing a handgun at an indoor shooting range and talking about her childhood experience castrating hogs.

Today’s (Tuesday’s) primary is significant because Iowa, a traditional swing state, is expected to play a key role in the race for U.S. Senate control this fall. Republicans need six seats to gain a majority. Neither party will have the power of incumbency in the race. The GOP views Democratic U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, the assured nominee, as vulnerable.
