Atlantic baseball and boys soccer have been affected by the rainy weather on Tuesday afternoon. The Atlantic baseball game that was scheduled at home against Nodaway Valley has been postponed.

Atlantic boys soccer is set to play Tri-Center at the Neola City Park for a pigtail game in the 1A Substate 8 bracket. Start time was originally set for 5:00 p.m. but they have delayed the start to 5:45 p.m. at the earliest, with hopes to at least start by 6:00 p.m.

Atlantic boys soccer opens up the postseason tonight with a trip to Neola to face Tri-Center. The game is a pigtail game in the 1A Substate 8 bracket with the winner advancing to face top-seeded Treynor in the Substate Quarterfinals on Thursday.

This game is the only pigtail game being played with all other substate’s have an even eight teams involved. Substate Quarterfinals in all classes will take place on Thursday.

Atlantic and Tri-Center meet at 5:00 p.m. at Neola City Park.

Girls regional team tennis continues on Tuesday. Class 1A will be contesting Regional Finals and Class 2A will be playing Regional Semifinals and Finals. Winners advance to First Round State Matches on Saturday.

Former Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy says he leaned on a former Cyclone and NFL signal caller as he got ready for rookie mini camp. Purdy was taken by the San Francisco 49ers with the final pick in the NFL Draft.

Rosenfels spent 11 years in the NFL. Purdy says the first chore has been to learn the 49ers offense.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The head coaches for the University of Iowa and UIC have mutually agreed to cancel Tuesday’s game that was scheduled to be played at Granderson Field in Chicago.

The game will not be made up this year but will be played during the 2023 season as part of a home-and-home agreement.

The Hawkeyes will close out the regular season with a three-game series against Indiana from Thursday through Saturday at Duane Banks Field.  Thursday’s series opener is set for 6:05 p.m. (CT).
