Iowa State coach Matt Campbell says he is not surprised by the turnaround at Kansas. The Jayhawks are off to a 4-0 start, the most wins by a KU team since the 2009 squad finished 5-7.

The Jayhawks started 1-8 a year ago under coach Lance Leipold before posting a stunning victory at Texas late in the season.

Dual threat quarterback Jalon Daniels has 11 touchdown passes for the Jayhawks and has rushed for four others.

Daniels leads a Kansas offense that is averaging 47 points per game.

Campbell says the Kansas run game will be a challenge for the Cyclone defense.

Television networks and times have been determined for the 2023 SEC/Big 12 Men’s Basketball Challenge to be played on Saturday, January 28.

The 10th annual event will consist of 10 games as every Big 12 member faces 10 programs from the Southeastern Conference. This will mark the eighth consecutive year for all games to be played in one day. ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to televise the contests. Each conference has five home games and five on the road.

Big 12 teams are 48-41 (.539) in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The Big 12 has a yearly Challenge record of 4-3-2 with wins in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019. One game was canceled in 2021 due to COVID. Ties occurred in 2017 and 2020.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Head coach Tom Brands released the complete University of Iowa wrestling schedule for the 2022-23 season on Tuesday.  The Hawkeyes will host eight duals inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena this season.

The Hawkeyes have three returning 2022 All-Americans in Jacob Warner, Real Woods and Tony Cassioppi in 2022-23.  Iowa also welcomes back three-time NCAA champion Spencer Lee at 125 pounds.

Shenandoah has made the decision to end their football season for 2022. Shenandoah Activities Director Jon Weinrich released a statement on the situation Tuesday. He said the decision was made due to injuries and a lack of remaining varsity players.

The Mustangs were scheduled to head to Clarinda this Friday for the Page County Super Bowl and also had games left against Greene County and Des Moines Christian.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh says Iowa’s style of defense dates back to the early 80s when Phil Parker played for Norm Parker at Michigan State. The fourth ranked ranked Wolverines look to stay unbeaten on Saturday with a visit to Kinnick Stadium.

Harbaugh says the key against the Iowa defense is to limit mistakes.

The Hawkeye defense faces huge challenge this week from running back Blake Corum, who averages more than seven yards a carry and has scored nine touchdowns. Harbaugh says Corum’s biggest strength is his ability to make defenders miss.
