Sports

October 27th, 2020 by Ric Hanson

(Radio Iowa) – Iowa State coach Matt Campbell still has confidence in kicker Connor Assalley (ah-SAW-lee). The senior missed two field goals in a 24-21 loss at sixth ranked Oklahoma State, one from 39-yards and the other from 48.

Assalley is five of eight on field goal attempts this season.

Campbell says the Cyclones still need to be better at finishing drives.

Kansas coach Les Miles remains confident the Jayhawk program is making strides. KU is 0-5 and the games have not even been close. The latest was a 55-14 pounding at the hands of Kansas State.

The Jayhawks are without one of their top players in Pooka Williams. The junior running back opted out after four games citing family and health reasons.

Freshman Jalon Daniels has taken over at quarterback and passed for 207 yards in the loss to K-State.

Miles says Daniels’ mobility is a strength.
